Yes. Despite the shitshow so far and the pitiful European efforts, I think Celtic will turn this around. It’s like how I mastered PGA Tour Golf on the Sega Mega Drive in the early 1990s. By the end, I was shooting first round 80s on purpose, then low 60s to barely make the cut before launching an epic weekend comeback to win it with a pair of 59s.
There’s always hope.
Rangers have potentially allowed themselves to get caught up in a situation where they could find themselves playing plenty of games in a short period of time given their progression in Europe and the league cup. Celtic have, quite wisely, decided to concentrate on the league.
Now those concentration levels have dipped in recent times but there is a massive 3 weeks coming up. Win the cup this weekend - lovely.
Then we have 3 league games before the New Year’s derby that are simply must win and to be honest there can be no excuses. A trip to the Fountain of Youth stadium sandwiched between home games with the Staggies and the Arabs. That has to be 9 points. Has to be.
Then on to Ibrox where I think we will need to win.
So basically win the next 4 league games and there’s a big chance of clawing them back. Rangers performances have dipped in the second part of recent seasons and Celtic have driven on. That needs to happen again.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say if Celtic win their next 4 league games, they’ll win the 10.
