St Johnstone v Celtic

BT Sport. 7.45pm kick-off.

Some fringe players expected to play with main men returning for trophy day at Celtic Park next weekend.

Bitton and Johansen among those rested due to amount of games played.

Debut for Tierney:

Zaluska;
Matthews, Ambrose, Denayer, Tierney;
Brown, Armstrong;
Forrest, Commons, Mackay-Steven;
Griffiths

Fasan, Izaguirre, Guidetti, Scepovic, Rogic, Mulgrew, Fisher

Incredibly lively start. Fast-paced, very open, great chances at both ends.

Ambrose with an uncharacteristic slip allowed O’Halloran (good player) to go clean through on the inside right but Zaluska saved well with his legs. Wotherspoon narrowly wide after the subsequent corner wasn’t cleared decisively. We look vulnerable on set plays without Virgil manning the zone in the middle of the goal on the 6-yard line.

Double save by Zaluska. Maybe could have pushed the first one further away to avoid having to deal with the rebound. Just before that Commons was very close with a drilled effort from outside the box and Tierney was denied by a last ditch block after a great run in behind.

Brown with a header cleared off the line from a corner after great play by Forrest led to Griffiths’ shot being deflected over.

0-0 at half time. Denayer will be replaced for the second half after taking a knock.

Denayer hasn’t looked assured without Virgil. Should be interesting anyway with Charles and Efe back there now.

Ambrose is amazingly bad at judging the flight of the ball in the air.

Commons has been a bit fat tonight. Heavy touches, lumbering, slow to move and pass.

Izzy for Tierney.

Scepovic for Commons. Might be more 4-4-2 now.

The linesman on the near side has found simple throw-in decisions surprisingly difficult tonight.

Unbelievable scenes.

What in the name of fuck?

Ah FFS

That was bizarre. Ronny Rosenthal springs to mind. What an incredible miss by Forrest!

Straight after they’d had a header off the post and a shot cleared off the line from a corner.

St Johnstone off the post after Mulgrew gave it away in his own half.

Celtic break and Mannus denies Griffiths. Armstrong should have gone the other way where two players were completely free to walk it in.

A fucking crazy 0-0.

Full time. :smiley:
