12.15pm kick-off tomorrow live on Sky Sports for Celtic’s first ever visit to New St Mirren Park in the last 8 of the cup. It’s a compact ground with a good surface so there’s no need to play the cloggers and we also have an 8 day gap after this game to the League Cup Final. More Crosas please.
Was watching 'Tic TV there and Strachan spoke very highly of O’Dea. He mentioned that he’s worked incredibly hard and thoroughly deserves his chance in the team and they’re delighted they didn’t send him out on loan.
O’Dea was interviewed too and mentioned the extra work he’s put in all season in order to remain sharp if he was called in. He comes in on his days off and stays behind after training to do gym work and to do his programme with Gregory Dupont.
I can’t help thinking that the only reason he hasn’t been given the nod at centre back is because Strachan doesn’t want to be seen to drop the captain. O’Dea’s a funny fooker too and was talking about his booking the other night when he ran into the melee to defend Aiden and how he ripped into Scott Brown for his sloppy passing.
All in all, it’s thoroughly heartwarming to see another young Irishman representing the team of Ireland, the Irish diaspora and the universally Irish-minded.
Can Bandage or one of the other sad Celtic bastards compile a list of their early kick-offs this season? They really seem to struggle with Saturday lunchtime fixtures, although it might be my imagination.
I’m more disillusioned than angry about Celtic under Strachan these days. I didn’t bother laughing at the huns the other night because I’m well aware that Celtic are capable of matching their ineptitude this season and today was utter gash.
Stephen McManus was truly awful for the penalty - initially getting turned by yer man and then diving in and hacking him down. I can’t really be confident for the league run-in given the defence looks so insecure and the central pairing are getting bullied by physical centre forwards.
And then there’s the fact that Hesselink and Samaras have gone 14 and 11 games wihout scoring respectively. That’s quite ridiculous for two strikers at Celtic, the league leaders and three in a row champions.
They were fired up and pressing hard and giving their all, as expected. It was never going to be a stroll like last week and there wasn’t much in the game and conditions were pretty awful. Then McManus stepped in.
Still, Celtic had half an hour to equalise and couldn’t manage it so there’s no excuses. We actually ended the game looking completely ragged after he took Crosas off for Samaras instead of replacing one of the defenders. Caldwell and McManus seemed to be standing upfront, with Samaras out on the wing and McDonald coming deep looking for the ball. It was farcical really.
I’ve said before that I want Strachan to leave in the summer, irrespective of what we win, or don’t win, this season. A common retort was, ‘He’s on course to deliver a treble.’ Well, he’s not anymore. The cunt better deliver the league though.
All in all, a terribly disappointing day for the country after the rugby football victory against England last week.

don’t know if its bullying or just that they have absolutely no cuteness which is needed for centre half…the pair of them often get caught the wrong side, go through lads when they should shadow…
The last OF at Ibrox is really going to be something. Have any of you lot ever been? Surely with the season ticket your name must come out the odd time?
NCC, Dancingbaby and Tipper have been. Plan on going on a corporate one ticket this year.
You need to be going to regular domestic away games to get selected Sledge. So your chances are just go through a supporters club and be liked in that club I suppose. Or buy a corporate ticket from Celtic which just means a meal in Celtic Park after the game or whatever and a bus transfer.
