St Pats
think its wrong that apparantly they have had to spend most the money they made in Europe on travel expenses for this match alone…surely Uefa should have some allowances or foot some of the bill for the smaller teams that find themselves in this situation…
Celtic had to cover their own travel expenses too scumpot.

Surely you can’t have a situation where one Irish club pays their own way whilst another looks for a dig out from Yoofa

maybe structure the expenses given by Uefa…base it on value of club or the league they play in or maybe on the amount of fulltime professionals they have on their books…there must be some way…but it is ridiculous to waste so much money just to fullfil a fixture…

no, final qualifying round to be negotiated first

Great result for the Pats. Makes me ashamed that I dont go down to Richmond Park to support them as its a 10 minute walk from my gaff. To come back from 3.1 down in the tie as well.

Some result for them.

Athletic Bilbao pulling off an away win in Berne as well. The Europa League is really hotting up now

Fantastic result. Draw tomorrow should be interesting. Jeff Kenna seems like a real good manager.

The European Adventure is really papering over the cracks though. Pats have been woeful in the league all year and Kenna would have been gone by now if it wasnt for the European form.

in fairness he’s been dogged with injuries…

Well done to Pats. Good honest club with a good young manager in charge. Hopefully they’ll get a good draw and give themselves a chance to get into the league stages.

could be playing villa next- St Pats should win that

They stick by their managers longer than some other clubs - slight exaggeration to say he’d be gone if it weren’t for the European results.

he has scumpot but their league form is atrocious.
if cork had not paid off the taxman today and went into liquidation the FAI proposal was to make all of cork’s games void this season and remove the points gained from games against cork from each club;s tally, if they did this last week pat’s would be bottom of the league

the signing of fabio o brien from dundalk appears to have worked well for them and in ryan guy from the US they have a decent footballer
i congratulate them for their win tonite , they womt be releageted from the league but i still think kenna has a lot to prove as a manager…

sledgehammer,
do u know how much they pocketed from keith fahey going to birmingham?

Not sure they got much for Fahey, he might have been out of contract when he left so I dunno if they got anything. I do seem to remember there being a fee though, 100k maybe? Mad to think that he’ll probably be lining out at OT in a couple of weeks, I always wish the best for any players from this league who go over there.

I just worry that Jay O’Shea is a bit lightweight. Still though, hopefully he’ll do some damage all the same.

danny murphy
Cark to motherwell and back to Cark

roy o donovan
Cark to sundireland, dundee united, 2008, now maybe sundireland?

dave myler

dave mooney
cark to reading 2008 and now norwich

paddy mccourt

kevin doyle and sean long, Cark to reading 2005 are the most hi profile

any more u can add to the list sledge??

( im probably missing a few rovers NCC??)

Bobby Ryan is back at St Pat’s now.

Could probably get away with throwing Noel Hunt in there as well.

Paddy McCourt and Niall McGinn are too good not to make it eventually. McCourt will probably make a few headlines this season as Mowbray is a confirmed fan.

unfortunately for you bohs sledge , do u think we will be adding barry murphy and gary deegan to the list of players to have left the league this year…
i read keane is interested in murphy, tabled a figure of 120,000 k for him
a 120, 000 k for him, ??? robbery for such a class act but these fucking english clubs can smell when a LOI club needs to sell ( just like that bastard coppell with cork for long and doyle, its business i guess… ) and offer nothing, and get what they want,

We can’t afford to keep paying the likes of Murphy and Deegan, and hopefully both are destined for bigger things. Please God both will see out the season, win back-to-back doubles, and then go on their way. It’ll mean we won’t get a fee for them as both will be out of contract, but I’d prefer that to letting them go now for the kind of fees which won’t really put much of a dent in our debts. There is probably going to be a close title fight with the pigs - I want us to keep our best players until the end of the season. Despite all that, it does look as if Murphy could go in the next couple of weeks. Good luck to him if he does.

Yeah - after the two in a row.
