Stage Dublinness -a Roy šŸ Curtis education

You should be arrested for voluntarily raising a child in Dublin

I recall a work colleague of my fatherā€™s emigrated to Vancouver circa July 1992, she and her family werenā€™t coming back, she and the husband were lined up with good jobs, they were going to make new lives for themselves. By early 1994 they were home, couldnā€™t stick the blandness, the clinical lnature of life there.

Reminded me of this classic Stewart Lee sketch.

A lot of Dubs are like that they canā€™t hack going outside the M50. I was only ever in Vancouver for a few days but for a city natural setting (which was the discussion) its pretty cool

Who said she was a Dub?

She was from Mayo if I remember rightly.

Lisbon is a great spot. My favourite European city to visit.

Someone put 2 and 2 together and got 5 :man_shrugging:

A lot of Cork people are like that. Making presumptuous observations that arent worth a shite. A peculiarbtype of arrogance alright.

Myself and Mrs B were in the Algarve back in April having a little tipple or 6.
Anyway,up rocks an English couple and joined in with their friends at the table right beside us.
They preceded to relay the info that they had just got the train down from Lisbon and while it was a beautiful city, they found that you could go down one street and everything is dandy but go down the next one and youd literally run away from it due to the level of drug use and low level criminality.

From the horses mouth.Dont know how true it is as ive never been.

Nobody can argue with that. I think we can enter that into the TFK record as pure FACT.

The kind of gem of an anecdote that keeps you coming back to tfk.

Also not a capital but Cape Town has it all from a geographical perspective

I agree. I thought Cape Town was absolutely spectacular.

We were in Lisbon at the end of June. I didnā€™t see any of that. To me it looked like a very nice city but we were based around the south of it near the beach. The ā€˜workā€™ part of it is more north.

A very nice city with a nice buzz. Feck all to see in it though and I like going places where I can see stuff of note.

Rome wins it for me.

Paris second.

Third probably Krakow.
