Stage Dublinness -a Roy 🐐 Curtis education

If his fans go to gigs they don’t want to hear any new music from the artist performing

‘A timeless temple of sociability…’

Does literature ever get better?

A slightly underwhelming start to the porter laureates countdown

Forget Mariah Carey or the Coca Cola truck. Christmas doesn’t start until the porter laureate kicks off his countdown of cathedrals

It seems that this Donal Fallon lad has piggy-backed on Roy’s tours of pubs and has produced a novel on the matter.
It’s included in this list of 10 best Irish books of the year anyhow….

Is that Fallon with the Liverpool scarf? who is between him and Curtis

Roy has been doing serious boozing this Christmas

Curtis does some amount of leeching off Con Houlihan’ s memory

I was in Keohes and Nearys last night and was disappointed not to run into the great man on my adventures.

The talent in general on display around Dublin last night was ‘Hors Categorie’ or beyond classification in Tour De France terms.

I actually had a pint with the owner of the palace on Wednesday. Seemed a nice enough man.

Peadear kearneys, temple bar, damer, some noble spot on Sherrif street and a couple more inbetween for my Christmas party.

I was drinking again Thursday and the palace was jammed by 1 o clock.

You are right about the women in Dublin. It was unreal Wednesday too and we were boozing early.

Even to be walking around dame street and temple on Thursday on my own and see young people out enjoying themselves is some contrast to most of Ireland.

He hasn’t started his “Cathedrals of Porter” musings as yet. No doubt it’ll be a rehash on previous elegies with a few new twists…

Its just astonishing really. Knee high boots sales in this country must be booming.

Any young person drinking during the week in the countryside would be sent off to Aiseiri whereas in Dublin its totally normal and acceptable.

Well drinking mid week early is miles ahead off being out on Saturday when you’ve have all the maniacs, rapists, coke heads and various other freaks out late.

You just get a better clash of person out on Wednesday.

I’d wonder is he getting a twist or two out of it. The first year he was only meant to do 12 and ended up doing about 20.

Dublin went down a treat with the palace fans. Great to see.
