Itās a Garda compensation hearing. I think heās saying he was only assaulted because he was a guard so trying to equate it to line-of-duty injuries.
Thatās just what it reads like to me- heās saying if he hadnāt been a guard he wouldnāt have suffered the assault.

If I was Masters Iād call Kevs 2010 match report in evidence which makes it clear that he was only assaulted because he was a guard. Seems to me like he has a cast iron case here taking into account Kevs original match report and the newspaper report above.
