Greenbook was very good - more so for the performance of Vigo than anything.
Billboards was enjoyable alright
A few that come to mind
Inception
Fury Road
Inside Out
Wolf of Wall Street
Paddington 2
Interstellar
Get Out
Frozen
Ex Machina
The Social Network
Gone Girl
John Wick
I don’t watch a whole pile of films but I liked Birdman.
Grand Budapest Hotel was good & Three Billboards.
You could just list off Di Caprio movies. It’s been his decade
Once upon a time in Hollywood (I haven’t seen this in full)
the Revenant (grim but brilliant)
the Wolf of Wall Street (brilliant)
the Great Gatsby (ok)
Django Unchained (grim, ok)
Inception (brilliant)
Shutter Island (brilliant)
I liked Birdman but I’d never go back to watch it again, and that’s a problem for me in having it on a list like this.
I thought Django was better that Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
that’s a chronological list. I saw about 30 minutes of Hollywood and turned it off out of boredom
Forgot Shutter Island, very underrated movie.
i saw once upon a time in hollywood and thought, story wise, it was a crock of shite. the acting was superb though.
anyway here’s my ten
hateful 8
rocketman
big hero 6
kubo and the 2 strings
i, tonya
deadpool
force majeure
wolf of wall street
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse
grand budapest hotel
Was it the end or the beginning of ouatih you missed?
the score was haunting
I watched a half hour at the start and bailed mate. I think I bailed when they went into another sequence of Di Caprio playing some part in a POW camp… I wasn’t in the form for watching it… I’ll give it another go
The wolf of wall street is one of the most awful films ever made.
My analysis of these picks.
I completely agree with this.
Margot Robbie apart, this film was utterly horrific.
It’s just so bad for so many reasons. She’s a cracker and the highlight but you hardly go to the cinema for that. If she doesn’t get naked I’d say it’s ridiculed. It’s a very irritating watch too. Just tries way too hard.
Animal Kingdom was as fine of a film as I have seen this decade.
I thought Shame and 12 Years a Slave were also excellent.
I thoroughly enjoyed Toy Story 3 and Django Unchained.
Whiplash was another cracker I thought.
Animal Kingdom was brilliant.
