There’s a film called “up” which made me cry during Christmas a few years back. It was very good.
About an hour and a half too long.
Essentially the same plot as Goodfellas. I’d say Scorsese et al made this in their sleep.
Some cringeworthy scenes such as Di Caprio trying to get into a car while under the influence of something.
Great call, beautiful film. That and The Book of Life were both magic. Coco is also lovely but the other two are better.
That’s it. I’d say a lot of accounts that never lived a day in their life’s enjoyed it.
Whiplash was just brilliant ---- the tension / hatred in it was top notch. And the end of the movie was excellent –
Plot? You know it’s a true story right? As is goodfellas. I’m not sure what you’d like them to do?
Have we no middle earth fans on here
Movies were shit.
Not make a film about what is essentially the same thing.
Guys live the high life with drugs, money and women
It goes wrong
One rats on the rest
and also not in this decade
Sure Hollywood is always remaking shite.
Practically every single romantic comedy has the same format.
Two unlikely people fall in love.
There’s a problem
They get back together.
Wolf of Wall Street is a true story which bares a slight resemblance to another true story. You could criticise the film for lots but that’s just silly
Accountants are essentially the same as gangsters?
based on a true story.
But in the main, romantic comedies aren’t taken seriously.
Scorsese’s films certainly are.
And it is more than a slight resemblance. I would argue that the basic pillars of the plot, as I have said, are the very same.
It points to laziness by the production team if you ask me. Just throw out a rehash of another popular film, but nowhere near the same level of quality.
Those with ACCA membership.
Forgot that one. Brilliant film.
Wolf of wall street is the same as the joker but instead of a slow descent into madness it’s a slow descent into corruption.
Not all movies can be original
I didn’t like the way the film glorified the complete cunts who pretty much embody much of what is wrong with the world today. Could have told the same story and had some entertaining moments too without the tone.
I accept that but I wouldn’t expect it to happen between two films from the one director, and a director like Scorsese.
they are both based on true stories and show the parallels between white collar gangsters and blue collar gangsters.
