Summer 2012 Transfer window thread

He was shit in the Dublin Super Cup.

There’s no coming back from that. Maybe he’ll do better in it next year.

Lots of rumors saying MUFC have a deal done with Benfica for Gaitan.

Normally I’d ignore anything at this time of the year but he’s based in Portugal which means Mendes is probably sniffing around him anyhow.

I see according to the sun that Robbie Keane is looking for a return back to the EPL. He must be looking to bulk up the bank account with one last move before retiring.

Bayern still going about their business. They seem to have signed Dante from Borussia Moenchengladbach according to German media. He’s an experienced Brazilian centre back who has been very impressive a few times that I’ve seen him play. I posted before about him as a suggestion of the type of player Celtic should have gone after a couple of years ago.

Mahamadou Diarra has joined Fulham on a free transfer*

*more of a mid spring than summer transfer

What’s happened to him? He was very good under Capello and then subsequently seemed to go completely off the grid the last couple of seasons - he’s not that old either - is he even 30 yet? Did he suffer a couple of bad injuries?

He was a big player for Schuster as well and was excellent beside Essien in midfield for Lyon. Can’t recall whether he got a bad injury, although presume he did. Never got a look in under Pelligrini or Mourinho

Podolski has agreed terms with Arsenal allegedly. May have been mentioned already.

Mail are now running with this as a confirmed story. £10.9m apparently.

Funny player. Has been excellent for the past year or so and was clearly very good when he was younger but there’s no avoiding what happened the last time he made a big move.

I think he will do well in the EPL, the brainless tactical organisation should suit a direct player like Podolski.

Juve have picked up Man Utd’s young midfielder Pogba as well, his wage demands were too big for Fergies liking.

He’ll do well anywhere if used correctly. He has scored half his club’s goals this season and has an assist for another 15%.

Where is his best position? I assume he will take up one of the wide berths for Arsenal.

Wide forward or central if he’s not alone.

Would he play with Van Persie or be more of a replacement for him?

That won’t be my decision to make Mac.

Christ almighty, just offer your opinion you bland cunt.

More like the agents demands bring too big. Juve paying the agent in the region of €2m. Juve offering much the same wages as Utd were offering. Shame as Pogba looked promising but Fergie was never going to give the agent such a large sweetener. ( he reserved those for family)

He was never going to play him either, which may have had something to do with it too.
