It looks like Mathieu Flamini won’t be having his contract renewed at Milan, he has missed the whole season with a knee injury and hasn’t really impressed in his tenure there in any case. Apparently he is the second highest earner at the club. :o
He looked an excellent player at Arsenal and don’t believe they ever effectively replaced him, he’s struggled in Italian football but he has been a little unlucky with injuries and such. He’s being linked with Marseille but I think he could do better, wonder would Arsenal or Man Utd be interested in him - I feel he would definitely improve both midfields.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has criticised his teammate for being selfish and insisted that the striker could have scored more goals if he passed the ball around.
Kagawa has blamed Robert Lewandowski for being selfish throughout the course of the season and insisted that the striker tries to score himself rather than passing the ball to a teammate who is in a relatively better position.
The midfielder claimed that the club’s top goalscorer does not look for options when he enters the opposition box and claimed that there are numerous opportunities wasted because of this. He added that this is the type of player Robert is and his team can do nothing about it.
“Lewandowski’s game is purely focused on trying to score himself, rather than playing together with his team-mates. He never looks around him for players who are in a better position than him. That’s why I hardly get the ball from him. There’s nothing you can do about that, though. That’s simply the type of player he is,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Cerezo Osaka star added that although Lewandowski has 20 goals to his name, the total could have been higher if he had coordinated well with teammates. He added that his total of goals would also have been higher if the team played short passes and went for goal after a good build-up.
“He has scored 20 times, and I have 13 goals to my name. The only difference is that he doesn’t cooperate with other team members. I am convinced that he would score more goals if he made better use of me on the pitch,” he concluded.
Shinji Kagawa has reportedly refused to sign a new deal with the club after interest from some of the top clubs in England. The midfielder is expected to ply his trade in the English Premier League next season with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal battling for his signature.
The Japanese international has 16 goals to his name in the 41 games he has take part in this season. The player has also accumulated 11 assists in the process.
Danijel Pranjic is the latest to follow in Juhniallio’s footsteps in moving to China. He’s been offered €11m over 3 years, plus lots of other incentives, and has said he can’t turn that down. He hasn’t revealed the club yet.
Reports in France linking Arsenal with a €22m purchase of M’Vila of Rennes. He looked ordinary enough in the Europa League against Celtic - not poor or anything, just didn’t do anything more than hold his own against the Celtic midfield. Highly rated though and certainly seems to have the athleticism etc that would mark him out as a Wenger type player.
Yeah, didn’t strike me as anything impressive when we played them, but what I’ve seen has been fleeting enough. Arsenal do need a proper holding midfielder, Song’s a good player but lacks the tactical discipline to carry out that role.
Looks like Lavezzi is off to PSG in the summer. They are supposed to have met his €31m buyout clause and De Laurentis is meant to have confirmed that this will happen to close friends. At this rate PSG could well be contenders for next season’s CL. It will be a crushing blow for Napoli to lose their most important player.
Milan have finally confirmed the open secret that Fiorentina and Italy man Riccardo Montolivo will join on a free transfer.
“Next season Montolivo will arrive and he is a very talented player with great technique,” Coach Massimiliano Allegri told Milan Channel.
The tactician made the announcement just before his scheduled press conference.
“In any case, Milan will remain competitive next year and we must continue the work we started last season. We need to begin again with great enthusiasm.”
The midfielder has been widely known to have a deal with the Rossoneri for just under a year, ever since he rejected the offer of a contract renewal with the Tuscans.
His contract expires with Fiorentina on June 30 and he will reinforce the Milan midfield, which has lost Gennaro Gattuso, Clarence Seedorf and Mark Van Bommel.
Looks like Hazard will be off to City in the summer, have they not enough players of his type (Silva, Nasri, Aguero, Tevez)? Think City could do with more dynamic and thrusting players - it’s evident how important Toure is for them and they don’t really have any alternatives.
Silva barely got a rest all season, no harm to have some extra quality there. Can see City shifting out a few over the summer and strengthening areas like central defence and midfield. I hear some other club are inquiring.about Hazard, hard to see him turn down the chance of playing for the Champions though.
