Is that Dortmund finished on the market this summer?
I think they will look a stronger outfit next season, Mikhitaryan is likely to be a much more productive player than Goetze as talented and all as he was. Is he a direct replacement and if so what does that mean for Reus? Will he be shifted to the wing? Aubameyang is a quite versatile in that he can play on the wing as well as up front I belive, which is definitely an advantageous thing. They could maybe do with another wide option, but from an outside looking in they seems to have done well this season.

Assuming Lewandowski is going nowhere then that’s them finished in big transfers I’d say, but you never know.
Reus can certainly play wide, they have been trying to replace both Goetze and Kagawa really so the priority would have been a #10 type. They have Sahin for another year (and you’d think maybe permanently so) and will probably expect him to return to the form he showed before he moved to Spain. So a midfield trio of Sahin, Gundogan and Mikhitaryan would be really strong in terms of creativity an possession, with Bender available to add some more steel. They sent Leitner on loan to Stuttgart so might want another creative/attacking option to fill in centrally but Lewandowski used to play in an advanced midfield role so I guess that’s another emergency option.
Think they do lack a bit out wide alright. Kuba and Reus with support from Grosskreuz and Aubameyang. Perisic went to Wolfsburg in January so that’s another of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 that they’ve lost over the last year (along with Kagawa and Goetze). I presume the Armenian was instead of Eriksen but maybe they’ll be still after another attacking option alright.
Looks like Wanyama to Southampton for £12.5m will go through today. Looks to be a good deal for both sides-Celtic getting a huge return on the player and Southampton get what looks like a very good midfielder.
That’s a hefty price for him though in my view.
Yes thought it would be £10m or so-Celtic probably getting the better of the deal. He is only 22 though so time will tell I suppose.
I couldn’t disagree more. I don’t think Celtic could have held out for much more necessarily, given his contract situation and the fact he’s in the SPL and Celtic have a policy of selling the players they develop. But he’s a class player. He has attributes that mean he could succeed at any club in Europe, I’m surprised that nobody bigger or better came in for him.
Obviously there’s no guarantee he’ll be great but that’s always the case anyway. He bullied the fuck out of the Spartak and Barcelona midfields that he faced in the Champions League, never played badly at that level and has always been too strong for any SPL opponents. If Wanyama had been playing for Barcelona in either game against Celtic they’d have beaten us comfortably both times.

I think 12.5 million is a hefty price for someone coming out of the SPL. I only really saw him against Barcelona and in fairness he was superb.
Any word from Arsenal?
Porto have signed another very highly rated Columbian youngster - Juan Fernando Quintero for €10 million after his strong showing at the under 20 WC
Hmmm. I’ll chalk that down as a backtrack and we’ll move on.
The Wanyama deal has been completed.
Goodbye Victor Wanyama and thank you for the memories.
Wenger the Accountant or Manager?
http://gunnersinarms.com/2013/07/11/arsenal-have-99-problems-but-money-isnt-one/
Giacherini being heavily linked with a move to Sunderland, his industrious style would be suited to the EPL while Quagliarelli is being linked with a move to Norwich who have made a few shrewd aquisitions already this summer, will be interesting to see if he is interested in the move
Norwich have also agreed a fee with Ajax for Toby Alderweireld. €8 milliom
Wanyama is a class act imo. Farcical situation when Southampton can get Celtics best player. One of reasons I find club football hard to watch these days
Zlatan being linked with Man City and Real Madrid today by L’equipe. wouldn’t be surprised to see him leave PSG as I doubt he would be too enamoured with the appointment of Laurent Blanc
Are Norwich getting Fer as well? They’re doing some good business.
Yip, a done deal. They alos have Van Wolfwinkel on a bosman as well
