I’d say the offer was Rooney plus £10million for Mata. Otherwise it’s insanity
I think it’s more likely that Chelsea’s version of events is true. They say it was a straight cash bid. Manchester United would hardly want to sell Rooney to another English team (even though he’s a fat, useless clown for all to see) so were probably annoyed to receive it. How can we piss them off in return, they thought. We’ll pretend they offered us our choice of David Luiz or Mata.
De Laurentiis claims Napoli have a transfer budget of €124m to spend after the sale of Cavani. I assume he is taking the value of contracts into this as well. Albiol is very close to signing for Napoli and De Laurentiis also confirmed that they are eager to sign either Higuain or Damiao.
How would that offer work?
Chelsea fax United. We’ll give you Juan Mata if you give us Rooney plus 10 million. It’s like they are bidding for money.
Rudi. I saw a dapper young gent on O’Connell Bridge there tonight in a Roma jersey. It wasn’t yourself?
Us Roma fans are noticeable by our good looks and excellent fashion sense but in this case the individual in question was not me.
The Man Utd chief executive has left the trip to the Far East to return home to attend to urgent transfer business. This involves a player coming into the club.
Sky Sports are all over that shit.

United will sign two players this summer - Fellaini and Baines.
They will finish outside the top four, below Liverpool.

The first part is sadly probably true. The second could well turn out to be half true, but it will be behind Spurs if anyone.

Utd are supposed to be signing Garay from Benfica in the very near future.
I fucking hope didn’t fly all the way back to sign a defender.

Utd will not finish below Liverpool next season. You’re also wrong on them only signing only Fellaini and Baines since they have already signed a player.
Someone has to sign the contracts. Underwhelming but it’s hard to see who else unless negotiations on Baines have progressed quickly.
Both underwhelming signings tbh
True enough. Could be an underwhelming summer with Moyes in charge. Will have to prove he can keep Utd competitive before some high profile transfer targets might sign but how does he keep them competitive without signing high quality players. Catch-22 for Moyes.
Who have Manchester United already signed? Are you including Zaha, hannibal?
United won the league easily last season, don’t require major surgery just two midfielders and a replacement for Rooney!
Valera. Uruguayan right back. Featured at U-20 world cup. Looks very promising.
With Jose back at Chelsea and City getting a proper manager it may not be as easy this season. Very hard to quantify Ferguson’s motivational abilities in the mix too though they surely played a part. Will Moyes be able to recreate that level of team spirit?
Uraguayan defender varela
