Summer Transfer Window 2019

I think he is probably well suited to the role he is in. Perfect man for the under 19s/21s etc as he is a good coach who believes in progressive football and is able to set his teams up as such.

But he does strike me as a touch of an oddball and I worry will his man management skills be up to it when dealing with relatively established footballers. At least by having the stepping stone of the 21s gig he has some chance of success but I get the feeling that it will not go well for him at senior level. Best thing for him would be for us to have a poor campaign for Euro 2020 and get the job with low expectations and get a chance to find his feet but we are very much in the mix to qualify and if we get there and he gets off to a poor start to the next campaign he is going to be under a lot of pressure from the fans and the players you would think.

Yes Iā€™d say heā€™s in the perfect role at the moment. Sort of directer of football. Linking the under 14 team to the senior team and everything in between. That should be his role. Iā€™d say heā€™ll be totally lost as a senior manager.

Will we really oust @Big_Dan_Campbell if we qualify I wonder?

His contract starts in August 2020 he said.

That is the agreement. Big Mick is a man of his word and barring Kenny offering to step back for another two years off his own volition I canā€™t see Mick digging his heals in

This is where the loss of John Delaney will really be felt. Without his acumen to regulate the politics here I have no doubt we will make a balls of it.

@Big_Dan_Campbell might be happy enough to step away from it all at that stage anyway. Heā€™ll be 61 by the summer of 2020 and surely has his money made at this stage.

He must have made a fortune out of Penneys back in the 90ā€™s.

Last November a poster called sid waddell on YBIG was heavily critical of the appointment of Kenny, saying heā€™d be out of his depth

He particularly pointed to an interview Kenny did with #marian Finucane after the announcement of his appointment as a good example of his awkward nature

I think sid waddell knew the score

There is one with Paul Kimmage which is bizarre. He is like a more oddball version of Padraig Harrington

There were parts of the Finucane interview in which he came across like Paul Curran when he did analysis on the Sunday Game

Or to use a pretty much identical comparison, the Apres Match version of Frank Stapleton

I think heā€™ll be ripped apart by the media in a rather merciless way

I wouldnā€™t be admitting to that if I was you.

I wasnā€™t interviewed by #marian, pal

Barella to Inter for ā‚¬45m.

In todayā€™s market that is an absolute bargain.

He looks to have a decent record too.

Roll on 12 months time when Kenny has the Ireland job and for the first time in my lifetime weā€™ll try and play football. I canā€™t wait.

Kenny is a fud

Kenny will prove everyone here wrong.

Kenny has a vision but it just wonā€™t work with Ireland. His best chance is a total clear out of whatā€™s there and build a team around molumby, masterson, Connolly, idah, Parrott etc.

I canā€™t see the likes of Duffy, Hendrick, Brady or Doherty respecting him.

I donā€™t think weā€™ll qualify for Qatar in 2022 and Kenny will be out and Chris Hughton will be in and slowly build.

Weā€™ll win Euro 2028 under Chrisā€™s stewardship.

I think Hendrick and Brady wonā€™t start under Kenny. Both have been shocking since euro 2016. Be a very young team which will suit Kenny. Hopefully Jack Byrne gets a move. Best Irish prospect I have seen in years.
