Super Blues 2013

Bookface Status update from the club page.

Half time 1-0 to Limerick. Well deserved lead, despite a late scramble which forced an excellent Barry Ryan double save, it’s been all Superblues. Axel Bossekota with the lead goal, but we need to up the tempo, we should be looking to add t the lead, not just preserve it.

1-1

FFS, some amount of leads thrown away this season. Happy with how the season has gone but we keep conceding when we put ourselves in decent positions. :frowning:

2-1 down.

Ollie Ollie Ollie. Oi Oi Oi!

Gone very quiet around here:p

2-0 up against bitter rivals Cork, only a few minutes left.

2-1, Cork down to 10.

Full time. 2-1. Get in.

7 points from 9 off those cunts this season.

Bag of shite tonight.

Awful stuff after a bright start. Zero ideas and little fight. John Delaney was the special guest tonight but not even the great man could brighten up the night.

In short, a load of wank.

High flying Pats at home tonight, would be delighted with a point. Just off out the door to it.

Enjoy. Let’s hope we turn things around.

How did we go DK? A scoreless draw against Pats is a decent result I suppose.

Excellent result. Pleased with a point.

Scrappy first half, we edged it and were denied on a couple of occasions by last ditch defending. Pats created nothing.

Second half they stepped it up and were the better side. They missed a sitter at the start of the second half, were denied by a miraculous goal line clearance and in injury time smashed one against the post. We always looked dangerous on the break though and the industrious Craig Curran was inches away from toe poking home a cross from the excellent Rory Gaffney.

Overall very happy with a point. It stops the rot at least. Stay up and build for next season. In Stuart Taylor we trust.

Next up is Rovers at home on Tuesday, September 24th. Very annoying playing games on Tuesdays, that’s about the fifth or sixth one this season. A killer for those of us working away from home.

Get in.

Excellent result against an admittedly leggy and/or disinterested Rovers side. Hughes put us 1-0 up early on after a long throw caused havoc in their box, fell perfectly for him at the back post and he blasted home with his left foot. Chances were at a premium after that before Barry Ryan made a fine save from a free kick.

We were still the better team but needed a second. The ginger Ronaldo Rory Gaffney duly obliged with a goal of the season contender, a cracking curling finish to the top corner. Saw the game out comfortably after that despite nearly conceding an OG and also with mad Malky being ordered from the bench. Overall a very good night and a much needed win recorded. Worth making the three hour round journey.

Disappointing attendance of only 977, if it was a Friday or Saturday night it would have been double that. Rovers brought hardly any and you can’t really blame them on a Tuesday night either. We owe Dundalk one on Friday night, will be doing well to get anything out of that though. Beat Bohs however and 6 points from 9 would be a pretty good return.

Great to see a Limerick team win in Thomond Park tonight anyway.
