Super Blues 2013

New era, a new year, a new thread

Apparently this guy is going to be the new manager of Limerick FC. Better than Phil Brown anyway…

Gaffney signs up for another year

Rory Gaffney has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with Limerick FC. The 23 year-old striker played a crucial part in Limerick’s promotion to the Premier Division and the 2012 First Dvision Player of the Year will look to continue his form in the top tier.

Rory joined the Blues half way through their 2011 campaign but failed to score in any of his appearances. Upon his move from the wing to centre forward, Rory went on to become the club’s joint top scorer in 2012 alongside Shane Tracy, scoring ten times in just over twenty appearances.

The Galway native came through the underage system at Mervue and played in Mervue United’s debut League of Ireland season of 2009, making 56 appearances in the club’s first two seasons.

He made his league debut on the opening day of the 2009 season against Athlone Town at Terryland Park and scored four senior goals that year. In 2010, Rory added another five goals to his tally and in 2011 he had scored a further five goals and amassed a grand total of 66 appearances before signing for Pat Scully’s Limerick FC in late July.

Any sign of a manager ?

Stuart Taylor got the gig

The wait is nearly over for the return to the big time. 19 years or something?

So who is going tomorrow evening? Unfortunately it doesn’t look like I can make it.

The signings during the off season look like they’ve a decent bit of experience so hopefully we’ll have enough to stay in the league. Going on quotes I’ve read from Stuart Taylor recently, it seems he has a policy for passing football. Lets hope so.

I’ll have to grit my teeth going into that dump known as Thomond Park this season. That clown JP Dillon from Live 95FM is the MC apparently.

Gaelic Grounds for the GAA double header tomorrow, a quick pint after and then going to the football down the road.

Hard to know what to expect from Limerick this season, just stay up first and foremost anyway. With a few new players coming in who are unfamiliar with the league it could take a while for them to gel.

I presume this will be a sell out?

Would you fuck off you spastic.

Is that a no then you irritable prick?

Oh the ironing…

Limerick’s gate averaged about 1000 for the last few years, with 1500-2000 for bigger games. Where are you pulling 24,000 more from??

Limerick is a bandwagon town no? I’m fairly sure I’ve heard dodgy keeper and yourself say as much in the past?

The female population of limerick would never ever jump on a football bandwagon.

The only wagon I’ll be jumping on is your sister…

I will watch on the box tomorrow. I haven’t seen Limerick since Noel King’s swansong in the League Cup Shield in Terryland Park in the 90s. Best of luck to the lads behind this project.

MBB royally clamped by CM.

Poor

All offense meant MMB, the above was really poor!

+1

You got served MBB

Poorer

Pat Dolan is a fat fucking prick. I was just about to post a lovely little post giving credit to to all involved today and he starts bleating on about Limerick being a rugby city. I’m fucking livid after that…
