good one mac
One of the rovers lads lost one of his reebok trainers running away⌠it was up behind the bar for years.
Markets Field not ready for the start of the season. Itâs going from bad to worse.
When will it be ready?
Jackman Park for the start of the season, better than Thomond Park at least.
This whole pre-season has been a disaster. Sammy Oji gone to Galway after he had agreed to sign for Limerick; club tried to lower the offer and he turned it down, looking for the original amount promised. Was the most important player in the squad, held the defence together.
Not looking too good for Bohs on Saturday week, but hopefully they can get off to an alright start.
Beat Cork on penalties out on Clounreask. Horrible conditions, but a decent performance from a young side⌠6 goals, a red card, a missed penalty and unbelievable reaction save in the last minute, a screamer from a former Man Utd player⌠plenty of value for âŹ5, youâd have to say.
I didnât have a lot of hope but it was a decent performance from a young Limerick team. Shane Duggan was fantastic in the middle. Donât know what to expect for the new season, still think weâre very short of experience and depth, but at least theyâll give it everything theyâve got.
2 down after 15 mins
Awful start. Conceded a goal after 30 seconds from a corner.
5/2 favourites to finish bottom this season. Bohs not much better than us but were gifted two goals.
Very young inexperienced side. Only about four of last years squad still at the club. A 17 year old at centre half but he has done well so far tonight.
0-3.
Awful stuff. Attendance of 920 of which Bohs brought about 200/250.
Going to be a long, hard season.
Turners cross next Friday night could be a right mauling.
And back to reality tonight. The performance against Cork now seems to have been a false hope. I just knew Bohs would score from their first corner, I didnât expect it to be after 40 fucking seconds⌠second was so sloppy, although the free-kick was nice.
Worst thing is that Bohs are not a good team, werenât impressive at all. Long-ball stuff, but their players were much bigger, stronger and quicker. All the goals were preventable but Limerick didnât really create much. Surface was shocking which hurt us more. OâDonnell is so dodgy under a high ball, and his kicking is woeful. Didnât have to make any saves of note really. Paudie OâConnor did okay again, Price does look good, experienced and strong in the air. Both full-backs were poor, particularly Williams who seemed to revert to type.
To be honest, if it wasnât for Duggan, it could have been a lot worse, he was excellent again. At least he has a bit of pride- OâConor was very poor, expect much more from him. Rainsfordâs first touch is great but his final ball is awful and he doesnât seem to be focused a lot of the time. Not impressed with Clarke so far, way too easily pushed about, his first touch isnât good enough and he doesnât seem to be suited to the type of game theyâre trying to play- Faherty looked better from the bench. Turner was poor but just looks out of sorts on the left wing, need to get him on the right.
Tactically, they looked all over the place⌠could be a long season, itâs not as if we have many players to come back in and this was a home game against one of the weakest sides in the league.
I see Duffer is coming back to the LOI and has issued a come and get me. Any chance we could shake JP down
Comprehensive 5-0 defeat tonight at Turners Cross.

The LOI just doesnât generate enough interest amongst the general public in Limerick. Soccer is without doubt the number one game in town, but the LOI couldnât be marketed worse even if they tried for me.
Itâs a pity tbh.
Itâs the number 1 game in town but nobody is interested.
Muldoon logic.

Stick to youâre superman wet dreams pal
I was tempted to go down tonight but had too much work to do; seems like a good call in hindsight. Was down there last year and they lost 3-0, missed the famous 3-2 the year before which is sickening. Apparently the red card was very harsh but even still, itâs a disastrous result. Going to be a long, long season. Probably no Duggan for a while now either.
Easy see why the Markets Field was delayed. Look at the total revamp they have given the stand:
o_O
Banning supporters now for using foul and abusive language. Thereâs few enough people going to the games as it is, ridiculous to turn away lads who have followed the club for years.
Probably be only a few hundred at the Longford game tomorrow night.
