Itâs a poor decision by the club to alienate a vast majority of the âhardcore supportâ. Any away games Iâve been at, theyâve been there; they do their best to create some sort of atmosphere⌠how much money have they spent on the club in the last number of years? More than most, youâd think.
Limerick FC can confirm that a group consisting of 30 people have been informed that they are no longer welcome at our matches.
The club has taken this action following what it views as unacceptable behaviour by this group. We are determined to build a family-friendly atmosphere at our games and such behaviour will not be tolerated.
The club has received a number of complaints from supporters â many with young children â that stated their unwillingness to attend further games due to the above behaviour.
We feel it is in everyoneâs best interests to protect these supporters and create the type of atmosphere that reflects our position as a community and family-friendly club.
Upon request, the club received a list of people from this group. We have advised the group that, should they wish to do so, individual representations can be made to the clubâs Board to exonerate any wrongdoing.
Already, the club has received notice from a number of the mentioned individuals wishing to disassociate themselves from the group, which we welcome.
The club will be making no further comment on this issue. We are fully focussed on Saturdayâs league game against Longford Town at Jackman Park where we hope to see full encouragement and support for the team.
Yours in Sport,
Limerick FC.
an omnishambles of a club
The group are all towel heads who attend games dressed in puffa jackets. I donât think youâd be too comfortable stood next to them either, mate.
âŚsaid the pot to the kettle
Banning supporters now for using foul and abusive language. Thereâs few enough people going to the games as it is, ridiculous to turn away lads who have followed the club for years.
Probably be only a few hundred at the Longford game tomorrow night.
The foul and abusive language was directed towards OâSullivan Iâd imagine Dodgy was it?
It appears so.
There was a meet and greet in a pub in town after the first game of the season between supporters and the manager, some players and club big wigs. As events transpired it wasnât the best night for it to take place - morale was never going to be too high after a 3-0 spanking at home against a mediocre Bohs side.
A few of the fans present expressed their concerns to the main man at the club - the imminent possibility of relegation, delay in returning to the Markets Field, letting most of last seasons players go without being replaced etc. These supporters were basically told to fuck off. When they said they pay their money every week and were entitled to air their opinions the row intensified. So basically the club turned around and concocted this story of offensive behaviour to ban them - been to a few league of Ireland grounds and the alleged chants etc that night at Jackman was no worse than what youâd hear anywhere else.
Donât know how accurate above is but thatâs what Iâve been told happened. In fairness to Pat the club wouldnât exist today but for him. My own guess is that it will fold within the next five years. Just canât get the punters in.
City folk have little or no time for soccerball of the local kind. From the few city apes I have to suffer at work it is clear they are interested in engerlund premiershite franchises and nothing else apart from champions league. Soccerball in the city will be gone in a few years unless PJ throws them another lifeline in his quest to be everyones favourite tax exile. That Limerick GAA is not in any place to benefit from this is no surprise either.

Did this happen above in The Imperial on Careyâs Road? I heard that a few supporters were a bit boisterous and OâSullivan waded in and told them they wouldnât be let in the gate of Priory Park?
It could have been Elvis, the lad I was talking to told me but I forget the place. He was minding his own business at the bar when it all kicked off.
Who exactly are the club âbig wigsâ?
Iâm not sure Iâm going to go tomorrow. Iâve been at pretty much every home match for the past 4 or 5 seasons and to a good handful of away games, and Pat has done great things for the club but stuff like this is bad. It looks like heâs losing interest and is looking for an excuse to pull out. Itâs a pityâŚ
At times, they drew in big enough crowds but crowds follow success. We had a chance when we first came up, but I think there was too much money spent on shit players and then the football wasnât the best (although that is an excuse offered at times). Junior football is bigger than Limerick FC. But you have to have patience really.
Itâs shit enough tbh. One bright note is Jason Hughes signed, very good player.
In the big sporting event of the day the loyal supporters have been treated to a humdinger so far as the super blues lead 2-1 at Jackman Park at half time in tonightâs LOI relegation six pointer.
Took the lead through a stunning left footed strike from young Sean Russell. Venomous effort. Goalkeeping mistake led to a Longford equaliser before 17 year old Russell restored the home sides lead after terrific work down the right wing from Clarke.
The only downside was that cunt on MC JP Dillon announcing the rugby football result from Twickers and trying to illicit a response from those in attendance. He got one from me - fuck off.
One other noteworthy point - a lad wearing a Clare GAA jersey walked in towards the end of the half. I kid ye not. Incredible scenes. It could be one of Davyâs exiles, I wouldnât recognise them without the helmets.
Tiny crowd, Iâll count it myself to pass half time.
Supporters need to feel like the team are a representative of themselves as you do in Hurling and Gaelic Football at club and county level. I personally wouldnât have any affinity to any of the Limerick FC Players (know plenty of lads playing for Balla & Pike who are arguably far better), couple that with playing in Jackman park ffs and itâs easy to see where the club are where they are.
Having a bit of rant here, but the whole game is in disarray country wide in my opinion. Where are the much degraded new Robbie Keanes and Damien Duffs, the game is in complete turmoil across the country due to neglect from the very top level.
2-2 now.
Many at the game Dodgy?
lads cobh beat ye in the league cup with a very handy but albeit u-19 side a few weeks back, things must be bad
<250 per my uncle
Two or three hundred. Pitiful.
