Really poor game. O’Conor’s header was caught by the keeper and then dropped into the net.

Limerick did press, but Athlone defended stoutly enough. Most interesting thing that happened was probably one of the Athlone coaches/maybe their bus driver getting up off the bench, hopping over the fence and standing with the fans to have a fag. Twice.

Or else Mulhall & Lynch absolutely fucking each other out of it over Lynch not passing/Mulhall not giving him an option. Both seemed extraordinarily angry for a match that really didn’t matter.

Considering how poor the game was, 18/1 was really crazy odds.
