definitely agree. The colts wont do much if they nab the AFC south, and Houston are iffy at best, and Denver and Cincinnati are falling into the playoffs. And it’s not as if the Pats are lighting it up either. If the Steelers stay healthy, they should beat the AFC south team and then it depends on the seeding for where they go then or if Kansas win.
Being isolated in the North West has fucked your mind up pal.
Without Dalton they’ll be under huge pressure. Denver have the best run D in the league so they cannot rely on that outlet to get them over the line like they did yesterday.
The pass rush should force a few errors from the new starter and
Was a weird performance from Bengals yesterday. When they threw it they destroyed the 49ers but they seemed determined to just run the shit out of it. If Eifert is back I wouldn’t be too worried. Marvin Jones has also picked things up nicely in past few weeks without too many people noticing.
Focusing on tight ends is normally the best way to defeat Denver, more so when TJ Ward is out.
It was weird that the Steelers didn’t use Heath Miller more in the first half.
why would a safety have an impact on the tight ends? Ward would only be tackling them in open field, not off the line. Or do Denver bring Ward up when it’s a big tight end set or something?
Ward plays like an extra Linebacker a lot of the time. If the opposition have one have one player stretching the field then Ward will pick up the tight end cos the rest are reasonably inept at it.
strange concept, cant say I noticed but wouldnt have been looking out for it either. If Ward plays on the line and Denver only play 3 DB’s, then that would surely open up a load of long opportunities, regardless of the quality of the WR’s as with only one safety help, it would be far easier to get open.
The amount of times he hits the tight end in play is unreal.
I do not try to make sense of Wade’s tactics, I just revel in their success.
I’m probably against a brick wall here, but hitting the tight end is not the same as picking him up. I’d agree, he hits the tight ends a lot, but thats after they get the ball and make a run, or if they go deep. Sure he blew out Gronks knee when he played for the Browns. But in stereotypical tight end play, short slants or throws just past the line, I never noticed him matching up on a TE, but again, never looked for it or noticed it.
I didn’t say he picks up the Tight End as he’s the safety. The amount of times he gets to them when they’re the target to stop them making the catch is unreal, or hits them to make the pass incomplete.
You’re in fierce pedantic form this morning pal.
Christ you’re an awful fanboy.
Which is why I can see the damage he does against Tight Ends.
Go have some coffee dude.
From NFL.com
The Broncos have had a lot of trouble containing tight ends since Ward went down with his high ankle sprain in Week 12
If that is where you are getting your opinions from then it’s all the one.
no, not pedantic, I just didnt understand the logic of a safety being out as to why that would mean teams should use the tight end more. you know the team better so was just wondering what you meant.
No, I formed my own opinion from watching the games and seeing whats happening, apparently that was too ‘fan boy’ for you so I provided another source that states the same.
A hard hitting SS making relatively memorable plays as he hits TE’s over the middle isn’t necessarily great play, there is no noticeable difference in the production of tight ends the Broncos played against with him in or out of the team.
DVOA is the way to look at these things and the Broncos have hovered around the 5th best mark all season
Cincinnati have a good D themselves. It will be a close game… I love the way you bring up the PI call but then instantly dismiss it,why bring it up? But yeah, you certainly got your share of calls for …but it was PI last night. I expect the Broncos to win their last two but with a playoff spot already gained the Bengals can give it a right go.
Because these things happens in swings and roundabouts and there was much more to the loss than that.
Tyrann Mathieu tore his ACL on that interception yesterday. Hurts the Cards a lot
