He is probably top of the list alright. Few other servicable options knocking about in Dalton, Mariota, Winston etc. Jags might even move on from Foles
Bears not having a first rounder means they will be looking for a reclaimation project
A complete waste of time. How long is he out of the game now? Half a season in '15 and missed some games in '16 too. He wasnt setting the world alight over 3 years ago, why would he be any better now.
Thats not to say he wasnt completely dicked around and would at the absolute minimum be a very serviceable back up after his spell in San Fran. I dont believe there was a concerted effort coordinated by the NFL and all the teams to excommunicate him, but he did absolutely bear the entire brunt of the negative feedback over the kneeling issue. Teams just werent willing to put their morals over their fans cash. which is shit, but NFL is business.
Too much time has passed. No one is going to sign a 32 year old backup who hasnt togged out in 3 years. I feel for him, he is a good player, not brilliant, but certainly was better than a lot of starters and better than most backups.
Iām not sure what relevance this has to a 32 year old who hasnt played in over 3 years? That they are shit and Kap is better? That may be, but like I say, he is 32 and hasnt played. At least with both of them, they have been in the system since drafted and have been on rosters. Iām not sure what else is to say on it really.
Brady is 42. Being old and hitting prime wasnt the point. Plenty of QBs only hit their peak at the age Kap is now, some even later than 32. However all of them have been consistently playing or at least been on rosters all the time. Not sitting out for 3 years and then coming back. Give me an example of that and I might consider it. In this non hitting the QB era, they can certainly last longer and play later. I just dont see a team making a roster spot for him at this stage.
Unfortunately, in redneck, military, flag loving America, his signing would undoubtedly bring far more negative reaction than positive. Fans of what ever team would have them burning jerseys and all the other bullshit they do and I think there would be a general negative reaction. Considering the NFL or followers of trends blame Kap for an overall loss of viewers of up to 8% nationally, then I think teams will baulk at that having a direct impact on them. Its wrong, but it is what it is.
Assuming heās maintained his fitness a few years out of such an attritional game might do him the world of good. Didnāt he get a settlement from the league that time?
