The Lions are one of three teams who have led in every single game they have played this year and 8 of the 9 games they have played have been 1 score games but they have lost 5 of them.
Stafford kept them competitive all year while the defence has regressed as the season has gone on and is one of the worst in the league in pretty much all metrics. No run game to fall back on either with Stafford banged up. Trading Quandre Diggs wasn’t best received in the locker room either.
They will probably get another top 10 pick this year and eek out 2 or 3 more wins against the likes of the Broncos or Redskins

Gman has a good grasp on it and I think as Raylan said the workout might have been part of the settlement. He was an average pocket passer, maybe Lamar Jacksons play might turn teams heads towards his style but it would have to be a team set up to try that type of game, very mobile o line, good blocking tight ends etc.
I can’t think of any fan bases who would be supportive. Chargers moved from one of the most military proud cities in America to orange county, which isn’t leftie at all though gradually changing. San Francisco? Possibly Seattle. Signing him would be widely accepted by locker rooms though so it’s not a impossibility.
