Itās already done I thought?
the bills have resigned matt milano with a 44m year contract. i think everyone thought hed go to FA with the cap situation the way it is but in brandon we trust, must be more cuts coming to accommodate this and the bumper payout coming joshās way soon
Possiblyā¦ I saw it Wednesday but heard no more.
Will they ship Thuney on @Gman? Still a decent line when all fit.
I canāt think of the last top end receiver Bill has drafted. Pretty much any of the top picks at receiver have been busts. Mitchell had potential, and did well in the Atlanta Superbowl, but can pretty much write off every other receiver pick made. He just doesnāt draft them high and when he does, itās not been a good result.
Brown is back. That will hasten the exit of Thuney. Heāll get good free agent offers, patriots wonāt match it or try.
That should create more cap tho? He better be planning something goodā¦ Donāt need world beaters, 2 reliable receivers would make a world of difference, thereās plenty of talent out there.
Itās all about them compensatory picks.
Thuney seems to be a prime candidate to end up with the Bengals
Its hard to be critical of Bill considering how well the Patriots have been for 20 years, but his drafting and GM role really leaves a lot to be desired. They played a lot on veteran free agents wanting a shot at a Superbowl and sacrificing pay they could have got elsewhere. Or players on second chances etc. Some of those worked, some didnt. But a lot of their first draft picks over the past ten years have been awful. And they have let go of a lot of players for marginally more than what they were offering to keep them. Patriots skilled offence needs a massive overhaul. Losing Thuney wont help matters.
Easy for the cunt with a billionaire wife, heās at that craic years and the gullible types like @Thomas_Brady and @Gman fawning over him. He would be looking for his 45 million plus a year if he were with anyone else.
What a guy. Heāll do whatever it takes to winā¦ Thatās what makes him the GOAT.
@johnnysachs what do you make of the Saints restructure? Morstead, J Jenkins, Alexander and Sanders all gone. M Jenkins, Thomas, and a bunch of others restructured. Williams tagged. Might not be as bad as many expected all things considered.
Whatās the deal with Brees now? Odd it hasnāt been sorted at this stage
Yeah I think Brees will retire. There is a clause that if he wants until June 1 they can absorb the cap hit over 2 seasons instead of 1. So I think he is on around 25m and they can spread that over 2 years as opposed to 1 saving 12.5m in cap space.
Morstead looked ragged towards tail end of last season. Leg strength looked to have diminished so there is no surprises there. His replacement is on the roster already.
Alexander is a bit injury prone and expensive. Although he and Demario Davis made a very good tandem when on the field together. They may have agonised over this one but just couldnāt afford to pay him. Zach Baun will have to step up.
Jenkins was very solid but hard to pay 2 quality corner backs and Lattimore is a former DROTY. Handy to have a fella on your roster in Lattimore who can shut down Mike Evans twice a year . I expect another CB to be high on the draft list.
Sanders had been brilliant specially when Michael Thomas was out injured but again is pushing on and expensive. Trequan Smith will be expected to be wr2 in his contract year.
Iām not sure about the tagging of Williams. He is graded high and has high int count but sometimes the stats donāt tell the whole story and he misses some big plays at the worst times. Most saints fans would have been looking to draft a safety just last year.
Overall its not too bad. Situation is manageable now. Iād like to see Trey Hendrickson stay. Andrus Peat is a liability though and I donāt know how he hasnāt been restructured. Davenport is in a contract year but I wouldnāt be surprised to see him walk next off-season. Ramczyk needs to be paid. Very important draft coming up and 4 days to sort out the cap with another few big contracts to negotiate.
Itās a funny old game with the cap, fascinating really.
You imagine Alvin Kamara looking across the locker room at old man Sanders last year earning more money than him
Marcus Canon gone to Texans now. Had been years developing into a decent tackle and looks like his prime playing time is now going to be elsewhere. With Thuney looking likely to go, itās not good news for the protection of Cam
Aaron Jones has reached a nice deal with the Packers, I didnāt see that coming but I think itās the right move for them
Heās the real deal
