Super Bowl LVI - The intricate incline to Inglewood (Part 1)

Fair well Drew.

Decent man

Does the timing of this announcement mean NO take a cap hit?

Wasn’t there some way they’d halve the hit if he waited til a certain date to retire?

Not sure how retirements work in relation to the cap but players cut after June 1st their dead money can be split over two seasons.

A loss of a legend and a big presence but in all reality he was nearly becoming a hindrance to the game plan. A pity seeing his arm strength regress to what it was.

Will be remembered as a legend and one of the best and rightly so

Hopefully Jameis takes over.

As the great Kevin Clark said on Twitter he is probably the greatest ever second round pick and greatest ever free agent signing.

Time to go though for both him and the Saints

I am delving more and more into the fundamental workings of the salary cap each year but this makes no sense to me. But looks like Hill is the chosen one

When Brees was out Hill did show signs of being a capable regular dropback QB and not just a gadget player.

The outpouring of emotion when Morstead was cut last week was amazing to see. What we’ll see in the next few days will put that in the halfpenny place. I wonder would they try keep him involved behind the scenes somehow.

This is also happening at the same time

I thought he looked ok at first but the more he played and the more teams were able to figure him out. They were struggling to get him going after 4 games as a starter

Hill was on a 2 year $20m deal I think. A 4 year $140m extension (albeit voidable) is some increase on that. Jameis will hardly get ahead of him now

He also had noone to throw to - think Thomas was out at that stage as well.

Jamies will surely get a starting gig in FA

Lynch had already tweeted he wanted to keep Juice to which his agent replied it would cost him

Payton said he wanted to keep him and was hinting at him becoming starter. Maybe that was just to massage his ego though.

Be a big boost to keep all three of them, Richburg retiring and not having the injury clause in his contract gave the extra space so hopefully works out now.

27 million over 5 years to keep onto Juice  cracking player though very versatile and brilliant run blocker.
