Super Bowl LVI - The intricate incline to Inglewood (Part 1)

Was probably as good a result for Jimmy Gā€™s trade value in defeat as the 49ers could have asked for. He didnā€™t torpedo them and made some plays. Someone will give up a first for him.

Canā€™t see it happening. Even from a health perspective, you just couldnā€™t

I think itā€™s good thereā€™s two sort of classic type Q.Bs in the Super Bowl.

  • I didnā€™t think Stafford was much to blame for the first INT, it was just a great defensive play. That turned into the key moment in the game because in contrast with Faketrick Mahomes, Stafford didnā€™t just give up because one little thing went against him. The drop by the 49ers secondary when he went deep towards the end is a bigger worry. Itā€™s fairly obvious by now that Stafford is a great tough QB with a signature weakness. Once he goes deep anything can happen.

  • I donā€™t quite get the support for Pornstar Jimmy on here. Did he make a big throw all game? If the 49ers copied the Ramsā€™ strategy and went all out for a superstar QB theyā€™d probably win the Superbowl. Rodgers or Wilson, either would be good enough.

Burrow might be slightly better than Stafford. It should be a great SB. I hope the Rams win it because Iā€™ve money on them from way back.

One of Staffordā€™s great strengths is he never really lingers on interceptions or bad throws. It has been his undoing at times before but he plays like he has no memory of them and will continue to push the ball down field or stay in and take the hit if the chance is there to make the play regardless of what has gone before. Hence why he has engineered so many game winning drives in his career.

Bengals weakness is arguably their OLineā€¦Burrow was sacked more than any other QB in '21ā€¦ It could be a long night for Joe. Heā€™s gonna have to get it out quick or take a lot of hits. Weā€™ll probably see him on his skates quite a bit, Iā€™ll take overs on rushing.

i donā€™t even think it is an argument. It is by far their weakest area.

I was pretty angry with them when they went for Chase last draft instead of a LB but I guess they know more than I do.

Burrow might end up a vegetable.

Thereā€™s gonna be a lot of hype around them over the next few weeks. A lot of the Ramā€™s roster were there in 2019 ā€¦ At least this time McVay wonā€™t be surrendering to the opposition coach before the ball is thrown in.

Some year for Chase all the same, from draft to Superbowl.

Youā€™d imagine theyā€™ll be fixing the OL this off seasonā€¦ Theyā€™re rightly set to be around for the next few years. Burrow is only in year two, coming back from serious injury, heā€™s the real dealā€¦

What a decade we have with Burrow, Mahomes, Allen and Herbert.

Mahomes has some big losses now and showing he can be seriously flustered. Heā€™s all about his mobility and once CIN got to grips with the chiefs routes, they pinned him in and he didnā€™t have much. Is he arrogant? He needs to be much smarter when the pressure is on. It doesnā€™t always have to be big plays and side arms.

Thereā€™s a bump in salary cap next year to help with covid losses, it will help the chiefsā€¦ Otherwise the squeeze after his big contract would have begun.

What was the logic behind McVay asking for a review in the 4th quarter?

I think he is but you kind of want that in a QB Iā€™d imagine.

Last night you could see him sat down, talking to himself that he had time.
Winking to Kelce on the line before the series he was intercepted.

I think overconfidence definitely got to him, itā€™s like the Chiefs believe they win at Arrowhead regardless of game script or opposition.

He felt that the ball carriers arm didnā€™t hit the ground and was held up by the tackler on the ground when he fumbled the ball. Either knee or elbow has to hit the ground for the play to be dead. Replay was inconclusive so they stayed with the call on the field

Thanks @Big_Dan_Campbell. Was wondering if it was more kidology than substantive query but obviously not.

Confidence and arrogance are different. Is Paddy putting the team first or his ego?

Hard to say tbh.

If you look at last night, he was blessed Hill caught that TD, he blew the play before HT and his manic attempts to call a Timeout which he didnā€™t have probably showed that he wasnā€™t mentally right.

His running about too late in the game wasnā€™t normal Mahomes

Chase is just an incredible generational WR. I donā€™t remember a rookie receiver with this much talent and hype since Odell. It was always to be expected considering he was WR1 and Justin Jefferson was WR2 for LSU on their title run.
