This shouldnāt put him up there imo. Weāve always known heās a freak athlete. Depending on how the Carr/Rodgers dominoes fall, you could see someone pull the trigger at 7/8/9. Lot of accuracy and consistency issues to iron out. Iād like to see him in Detroit learning from Goff for a year or two. Heās very, very raw.
Draft hype has a momentum of itās own
He is intriguing though from what I have read and seen. Certainly has a lot of the big attributes you want in a QB, it appears his foot work and ability to make the short/simple throws are his main flaws - but most teams will see this as fixable.
The draft is falling nicely for Detroit, there could be a QB like AR at 6 - where they could make a trade with the next three sides in the draft and acquire another day two pick and still get their guy.
Could also be a run on QBs early and with Carterās woes, he could well be in play at 6.
The fall of BouttĆ© has been disappointing. Looked a Chase like prospect after his freshman year. Poor covid year and then poor QB play last year killed him. Then he shows up for testing and puts up a dud across the board. Heās now a Day 3 prospect 2 years after being WR1 in this class.

QJ has all the traits of an alpha but dogged by inconsistent play and didnāt work out at the combine.
JSN didnāt look out of place next to OlavĆ© and Wilson his sophmore year. Didnāt run the 40 at the combine. Heās always had doubts over his long speed but had elite results in the agility drills. Heāll get open all day long in the slot and well fit to play outside.

Just had a little look there, seems bizarre. Jalen Carter down to 20/1 for first overall pick? Has he fallen that badly? Is that smart money staying away? Bryce Young 1/2 for first overall and Anthony Richardson 2nd favourite!? WTF? And then Young is 2/5 for 1st QB, only slightly worse than for 1st overall!? Thatās free money surely? What QB could possibly be sekected ahead of Young?

Carter had a little bit of a scandal last week. Heās facing charges over a team mateās death.
I still think Young goes no.1 but definitely not something Iād bet on at that price. His size will leave just enough question marks for GMs to gaze lovingly at AR and CJS.
