Why would the Falcons not tell Cousins they’re going to draft a QB? Or did they really make the decision that late?
This shite is ludicrous, Cousins is 35 and coming off an achilles. The concept of a backup plan is hardly that earth-shattering

But it is the opportunity cost of it. They have given Cousins 100 million and now spent a top 10 draft pick on a QB - at worst they could have gotten a starting corner, pass rusher or tackle with that pick.
Instead they wasted that opportunity on having this guy sit for 2 years while his contract is extremely team friendly which allows you to add talent in FA but that money has been spent on Cousins.
It may well work out but it is terrible process
