The tuck rule has now been removed (along with some other rules about tackling).[/quote]
Finally they’ve got rid of that rule they made up to cover-up The cheating Tom Brady and The Cheating New England Patriots.

a sad day indeed. :frowning:

but what a shit fucking rule. As it happens, the Pats lost to the Jets that season (the game where Bledsoe got injured and Brady took over) and lost due to a tuck rule call by the officials.

Dumervil not happy with the offer (probably around $4.757m) made by the Broncos and is to start visiting with other teams today.

Abraham and Freeney are due in the Mile High City for a visit as well.

Brian Urlacher is being forced to finish his career in a uniform other than that of the Chicago Bears, his team for the past 13 years.

The team announced Wednesday that the two sides could not agree on a contract, and Urlacher and the team will part ways.

Players can’t really complain when they are discarded like a snot rag with the money they are getting.

CLD will appreciate this, bringing together his 2 favorite things, NFL and Simpsons.

AFC Free-Agency

Subject to medical on Tuesday, Elvis Dumervil has signed for the Ravens in a 5 year deal. What a coup for them. Getting the top defensive end on the market and hurting a key AFC rival in the process.

They only need about four more on defense to replace everyone they’ve lost.

Called this move the day after he made the contact balls up. Elway will work on bringing in Freeney or Abraham and strengthening in the draft. Could even make a play for Urlacher to come in at middle linebacker as well.

$35m for five years and $8.5m guaranteed in year one, way overpaying for a DE.

Croppy boy rattled

$6 million less than Paul Kruger got off the Browns ffs:p

Excellent bit of business by Ozzie Newsome as usual.

Sorry sport just starting my opinion.

You reckon it’s a good move for the Ravens?

Won’t make much difference to the Broncos once they get a replacement that can get a bit of pressure on the QB to allow Miller wreak havoc.

Puts him in top five according to sportrac http://www.spotrac.com/top-salaries/nfl/defensive-end/ and more than Denver were gonna pay before fax gate.

yeah but the Denver thing was the leap of faith Dumerville was going with in the hope of redoing a deal later on. Denver should have sorted it, and Dumerville and his agent shouldnt have fucked around. In the end, its worked out well for him, and not Broncos who now have dead money against him. The only blip on their excellent free agency period.

They couldn’t really given the limited cap room space they had though. The biggest winner out of this will likely be Freeney.

Great move I think they’ve moved ellerbe and Kruger who were both good but over rated, reed and pollard who were past it long term and Cary Williams who might be a star for the eagles but might just be ok. They kept I think their five best defensive players, ngata, kemoeatu, upshaw, Webb and Suggs to lead them, and have Chris canty and dumervil now. I thought they had got rid of too many but it all makes sense. With the best gm in the game why wouldn’t they. Only one I don’t get is boldin let go so cheaply. Broncos hopes are now all with miller.

no I meant re negotiations for his next contract, next year or whatever. Freeney would still get a good deal no matter what happened. For what seemed a major fuck up from Dumerville and his agent, it has worked out quite well, and he ended up with a good team too.
