Is Michael oher from the film the blind side any use?
He hasn’t quite tuned out the star that was expected and he’s effective rather than spectacular. He was drafted as a Left Tackle but moved to the right side for a season before reverting back.
Still, he’s won a Superbowl which is a fair achievement considering the hell in which he was raised.
Couple of more interesting player moves. Nnamdi Asomugha has gone to the Niners on a 1 year deal for $3 million, great business by them as the NFC West arms race gets ridiculous. And Carson Palmer has been traded to the Cards for basically a 7th rounder. Oakland will be delighted to get him off the books and save themselves from yet more dead money.
Palmer is too past it to be any use #freelarryfitz asomghua is a good move at that price he might refind form in the Bay Area after flopping with the eagles. RG3 back running. If he’s ok they’ll dominate the conference. Kapaernick foolishly laughing in the face of the madden curse and canvassing votes for the cover.
He’s ok as long as he’s not on the blind side. He was so annoyed at his portrayal in the book and especially the film that he brought out his own book.
Some coverage of the workout at Duke yesterday, featuring Wes Welker catching passes from the greatest QB that he’s ever had the privilege to work with.
The Patriots have made a move for Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders. Not definitely getting him yet though.
looks likely though. Cant see the steelers paying up for him, and would probably prefer the third round pick. Even though Pats aint paying a whole lot, I still think they are over paying. And this coming after guaranteeing Tommy Kelly a decent wedge, I’m not convinced at all by any of these 2.
Pat Summerall has died. The man was a legend.
Hell yeah!!! The Smash is going to College!!
One week until the draft
Flacco v Peyton to get us underway.
The Eagles travel to the Skins for the opening MNF fixture of the season.
Jets have apparently given Tampa permission to talk to Revis.
My sources indicate that the trade will be for a 1st, 3rd and 5th round pick and the Jets will flip the 5th round pick onto the Saints in exchange for RB Chris Ivory.
That would be very impressive for Jets new GM John Idzik if he pulls that off. This is his first big test. Revis is coming off major surgery, has only one year left on his contract and is entitled to leave for nothing. Getting that haul for him and getting his contract off the books mean the Jets can start to rebuild in earnest now.
It would be an excellent deal alright. He’s done some good work so far with a few lower profile deals - restructuring the contract of Holmes for example.
And with delicious irony the Bucs first game of the season is at the Jets:D
As long as they stick with Sanchez they’re fucked. There’s no Andrew luck in this draft so who would they go for to replace Sanchez.
It can’t always be Summerall.
