If you win the toss you have the choice to kick or receive. Defer is the same as kick

Not quite. Deferring gives you the right to decide whether to kick or receive at the start if the second half, so you could end up kicking twice if you wanted. It also leaves the door open for the other team fouling it up, happened a few years ago where UCLA got the ball to start both halves against Texas. They won the toss and deferred, but the Texas captains said they’d defend a particular endzone which meant they had to kickoff to start the game, and then UCLA elected to receive at the start of the third.

Barring the playoffs/sb a ball game can end in a tie, doesn’t happen very often though.

We had a few this year.
Was looking at the history of this, there was a clamour for change a few years ago whereby in the playoffs both teams were guaranteed one possession before it became sudden death. If the first team scored a field goal they could be beaten by a touchdown.

Is that all you have to defend your bandwagonism?

Bit insecure about it anyway are we :joy::joy::joy:

Watched the highlights there. That was quite the collapse alright. Parallels with Limerick in 1994 aren’t apt, that was a snap collapse over in a couple of minutes. This was a slow drain over a third of the game. More like Northampton vs Leinster or Milan vs Liverpool. The panic on yer man Ryan’s face was a sight to behold. The coach was clueless too. Do they not have a culture of getting a fella to lie down and play injured in NFL. So that you can stop the play and gather in the troops. Mad shite.

Classic Kev, goes for the insecure jibe early. TFK must be a very fragile place, sure everyone who defends their position with any venom is insecure in your book.

I’d love to see you make out how I’m a bandwagoner.

How’s the Aussie Rules season going?

Haven’t a notion. Haven’t watched a game hardly since i left the place after playing and working in it. I actually experienced that though. I lived that culture.

Its fucking hilarious to see the same dopes who slag Irish rugby going on about NFL.

American Football has some serious feats of athleticism, but most of it is fluff, and marketing.

Correct. Mind you wasn’t it about 6 minutes or so of madness from Milan in that 2005 final - 3 goals in about 6 minutes:

Good old Bill - As of today, and as great as today feels and as great as today is, in all honesty we’re five weeks behind in the 2017 season. :joy:

He’ll catch up on the tapes later sure.

No biggy

He’ll have ring no.8 in no time

He’ll have it easier this off season considering the ridiculous amount of cap space available.

A long term deal probably needs to be done for Hightower. They could even let Bennett go considering the talent at TE in the draft this season.

The big decision in the off season will be whether to trade Garoppolo or not.

That’s all thanks to Tom’s dodgy contract. Hopefully commissioner Goodell looks into it, it fucking stinks.

The future of one Mr. Gronk is a little clouded also… I don’t see him going any where but you never know. Hightower has to be paid… Butler and Logan Ryan are up in the air also I think…

Butler is restricted so you’d imagine that he’ll get the franchise tag if they don’t sort it out before then.

They could take a run at some free agent WRs as well if they think they can do bette than Floyd. There’s far better talent then him available. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/wide-receiver/
