Bad team tax plus desperation.
Hard to see how he can play up to that money with what is on the roster up front/on defence. Marks and Fowler are the only potentially quality players. Flower hasn’t played a down and Marks had to go back on IR last season after coming back from an ACL tear. They could hypothetically make things happen from a rush perspective. Outside of that you have a lot of average to poor players.
Forte to the packers?
Odrick is very underrated, don’t forget him
Apparently trying to get a trade done for Martellus Bennett too
Fuck me Malik really hit the jackpot with that deal. It’s going to be impossible for the Seahawks to hold onto Bruce Irvin with teams throwing money around like that.
Not teams, just the jags.
To get anyone to go there they have to break the bank. Slowly building a team.
If the Pack get Bennett and forte they 'll be a juggernaut
I think he’s already expressed a desire to play in Atlanta. He’s from there and loves Dan Quinn.
They do have the tax advantage. Another team would’ve had to give about 10 million more in guaranteed money to match the Jags offer. When you look at the contract Dwayne Allen got stay in Indy, hard to say teams aren’t throwing money either.
Is Leodis McKelvin any use?
He’ll have no shortage of suitors, I just hope he doesn’t end up in the NFC west as it wouldn’t surprise me if the Niners or Cards made a run at him.
Blows hot and cold. Can make plays but prone to busts in coverage. Fills a need though, and the FA corner market is thin enough.
Has this been posted? I think there’s a subtle message in there
This is just the start. There are loads of teams with huge amounts of cap space, money they have to spend, and a lot of these free agents are going to hit the jackpot like Malik.
It’s a great year to be an average FA wideout anyway.
Mario Williams signs in Miami. With Suh and Wake already there, 2011 is shaping up to be a big year for the Fins…
Surely Wake goes now? They don’t have that much cap space I thought.
Yeah it’s on the cards. Vernon’s position means the whole situation is in flux, so I don’t know if they’d cut him before seeing how that goes. They had about $30m in space after spreading Suh’s hit, but I imagine Alonso and Maxwell’s deals coming onto the books ate into that.
Strange, strange move as the Jags reportedly agree terms with Chris Ivory.
Raiders have snapped up Bruce Irvin. Can’t see opposition QBs relishing a matchup with the Raiders.
Jags reportedly giving Ivory over $6 million per annum too, lunacy.
One year deal?
