Superbowl LII - The Purple Rainy Road to Mary Tyler Moore's Minneapolis

Lol as if

Something very likeable about that 49ers team.

@ChocolateMice and @Gman I’d like to congratulate you and the cuntish franchise you follow on that outstanding victory last night. I’m having trouble even considering watching the highlights at this stage.

Hopefully this helps you get over your issues with the Mile High choco!

I woke up about 3.15 and watched 20 odd mins of it — and the highlights this morning… Not a vintage season for Denver but New England’s record there is so poor you’d take any kind of win … Bill will be delighted with special teams - Dropped kick offand recovery to open the game which led to a TD, a return for 103 yards by Lewis and a bloked punt deep in Broncos territory. - but a healthy and firing Gronk makes all the difference… Again, only from highlights, but Sanders looked to have had a game and bar a turnover late in the game, Brock looked decent.

Incidentally, your hero, Bill Belichick, has tied with Tom Landry for the 3rd most wins as a coach of all time… Another 5/6 years and he will the most winningnest of all time.

Fixed that for you there :stuck_out_tongue:

Bill would have it no other way…

The NFC looks a complete minefield at the minute. The Eagles look good in the East and the Vikings have a two game lead in the north but they have a tough enough run of games coming up while both the Lions and Packers could conceivably go 3-1 or 4-0 over the next few weeks and can you really trust Case Keenam to keep playing at the level he is?. Rams and Seahawks are locked in battle for the West and the Saints, Falcons and Panthers could well all cut each others throats in the South while the Cowboys will also be in the hunt for a wildcard spot.

The AFC is fairly cut and dried with the Patriots, Steelers and Chiefs well in control of their divisions

Are any of those teams in the NFC the real deal? They’ve all showed glimpses … Where is Teddy B at? I know he was on the bench last night, but if he can get back to near where he was before injury Vikings have a chance … might be way too early tho. Lions seem like a great team to watch, their games are never boring, but they cough up mistakes and points and their run game seems below average. Seahawks are very average on offense and have lost Sherman as well… I can only see an AFC winner this year - I keep waiting for the wheels to come off the Eagles bus but maybe they are the real deal - Three of their next 4 games are tough road trips to the Cowboys, Hawks and Rams in weeks 11, 13 & 14 - we will see where they are at there I suppose.

People seem to remember Bridgewater with an incredible nostalgia. Perhaps it’s his heroic recovery from that injury. He was average at best then, and he’d do well to reach that level again.
A fit Bradford was a massive upgrade for the Vikings. Even now, they can’t drop Keenum as long as he’s getting the wins.

He was starting to come into his own at the back end of 15/16 - he was no superstar but he was certainly finding his groove and they had hopes of him expanding his game outside Peterson. He’d certainly be an upgrade.

The week 12 game between the Saints and the Rams is gonna make for great viewing and should give a good sense of where each is at. Both reminding me of the Panthers team that got to the Superbowl a couple of years back.

Bridgewater is a decent game manager and a solid if unspectacular QB. Hard to see them dropping Keenam unless he shits the bed a couple of times. Very hard to put him back in after the injury he has had mid season. Real shame for the Vikings that Cook got injured when he did as he could well have carried a lot of the burden.

If someone said a while back the saints would put. 50 points up in orchard park and drew was <200 yards without a td then I’d have said you needed locking up.
They will be well suited on the road in the playoffs and have a supreme qb - they are the real deal.
Rams defensive line gives them a great chance too. The big deep plays they use won’t stand up in January but they have Todd for that. Real deal also but behind saints imo

That was fine when the gameplan was built around feeding AP. You need something of a slinger now when you’ve got Diggs and Thielen and Rudolph ballin’.
Not sure teddy is the better option right now.

The Saints are a side who deserve serious respect. Cam Jordon is probably the most underrated defensive lineman in the game and Marshawn Lattimore is already of the best corner backs in the league while Brees, Thomas, Ingram and Kamara are all play makers on offence.

Willie Snead to be brought back in as well. They might come up short this year but if they keep Brees around and in form for another couple of seasons they will be contenders

Agreed, Brightwater is in a contract year as well. I don’t think they took the fifth year option on him due to the injury so they will surely be itching to get him gametime before either franchise tagging him or releasing him in the spring.

Watched it this morning. Denver were poor, particularly in special teams. Muffed punt, blocked punt, kick off return TD and called for 12 men on the field on a 4th and 5 punt. Patriots scored 28 points off those alone. Patriots gameplan was straight forward, keep it in the middle. Lots of tight ends and RBs out of the back field. Very little went out wide to Dorsett or Cooks. In saying all that, Sanders absolutely destroyed Butler.

Even at its best the Denver D in the last 5/6 years has had trouble with TEs.

The tackles attempts on Lewis’ run were comical.

The fact they targeted Miller on Allens TD said a lot too. Make the opposition as uncomfortable and out of position as possible.
