Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to do a bit of extra work on the side to supplement their main source of income or contemplated it even.I work in accountancy and the pay is shockingly bad so I was thinking of doing a couple of grinds per week, accountancy/economics up to leaving cert standard possibly.
I was approached by a person to do Christmas trees before but that took up a fair amount of time and effort.
I know another guy who imports Mac make-up sets for €40/€50 and they retail here at €200.So he can afford a mark up of 100%.He makes an absolute killing especially around Christmas time and the first week when colleges get back up and running.
Guess the reason I’m asking is to find out peoples experiences with time managment, possible pitfalls etc.
That was where KIB Man said the country had collapsed. I said the country hadn’t collapsed as there was still many people in employment. I never meant it to mean that I didnt realise that a lot of people had it shitty but just pointed out that the country hadn’t collapsed like that clown had suggested.
I gave Leaving Cert maths grinds two years ago. Handy money. Did it in two hour stints to maximise benefit for both parties. 70 quid for the two hours. Nice little earner.
Lads surely there must be a bullin load of work for accountants at the moment every builder and his mother going bust, not to mention NAMA and insolvency solicitors etc etc
There were thousands of accountants churned out every year that were little more than trained monkeys.
Like tradesmen, the good ones will always have work, it’s the big 4 trained, copy and paste merchants who’ll suffer.
FFS, i’m already after booking the skiing, and the Easter trip to Cuba, not to mention the 6 weeks off for Oz the end of next year.
Some fellas don’t cop on at all, its all over lads.
Runt means Ernest & Young, PCW, Deloitte and KPMG Turf. Horrible places who ruin good men. I’ve seen at least 2 good friends become complete knobs from working in the places.
Your a Gentleman and a Scholar by PCW do you mean PWC, well I can’t speak to the quality of their work or training or much really but every day you open the paper some lad form one of those firms has been appointed manager/receiver to XYZ ltd
PS I take it bandage and a few more lads work one of the above
