I got a phone call from a Romanian number and was told if I don’t send on the money ASAP my kneecaps will be drilled.

Surely the gubberment and hse need to be taken to task over this. Half the country is being plauged with phone calls. I’m more surprised to get a genuine call now.

Its more of an option that you want to see the result. These phone calls are rampant atm. I dunno what the authorities and goverment can do in this situation tbf as the calls are most likely outside the EU
Is there anyone out actually falling for this? I know the calls could case some people to worry especially telling you that there is warrant for your arrest or that your PPS number is used for money laundering but with all the publicity about this surely people are not getting caught out?
Money muling is another scam that seems to catch out a few.
There must be some gullible people to fall for it. Unfortunately there is a lot of elderly people too who would be very trusting of people claiming to be from goverment agencies. Its important to keep them wide to potential scams and only to answer letters from said department or ring themselves.
Ah yeah had to tell my mam that if she gets a call like that she is to hang up and not to worry about it.
That’s all we can really do. Their worse than bogus traders imho. If they get through they will clear the bank account
