I got a scam call a few weeks back actually from an “amazon” rep. I got a call saying they have noticed suspicious activity and did i order a phone for £799 to be delivered to London. Obviously i hadnt and the lady says that i will receive a code and that to verify that i am the account holder, to call back the code to them. Alarm bells then. A code does come through so i give it back wrong first. Thats incorrect. But its what i have received. Maybe there is no fraud i says. She starts getting impatient and asks me again. She says that another code will come and to call that back. I too got impatient and called her a scamming cunt and she hung up on me.
I could see how someone could easily be caught tho. It all went as she described it and someone could easily call back the code and have a large order put on their account

That exact same scam warning was going around in 2020, it seems to have been a hoax.

There was one on the news today about people leaving their bank cards under doormats for taxi drivers to collect. That was a new one on me.
That’s the fucking job. Punch me in the face, talk shit about me, whatever. But try take something I’ve earned, something I own… you’re coming up to the shed with me.

I reckon about 1 in 5 messages on facebook marketplace isn’t a scam.
We are trying to get rid of a perfectly good couch, it’s worth maybe €150-€200.
I would happily give it away, but if you put it up for free a load of cunts contact you asking you to deliver it to them.
And if you put a price on it, then you get a load of messages asking you to click on a link so that An Post can collect it. A fucking couch like.
It’ll end up in the dump soon it’s taking up space. I’ve never had any luck trying to give things to the charity shop. But it’s an awful waste

I had a three piece up on it a while back and had no luck. They can be hard to get rid of. But you’d never know.
No scammers on it so far. Worth a try. I’ve moved on a lot of stuff over the years. Picked up stuff also.
