My rule of thumb is I never answer a number I don’t recognise if its genuine they’ll leave a VM or send a text

The auld lad bought a whistle when he started getting calls from lads claiming to be from Microsoft and that there was a problem with the laptop. Blew 3 or 4 of the cunts deaf he did

These phonecalls were a forerunner for the ransomware attack that hit the HSE. Anyone who is getting them shove immediately shove their phones up their holes.

The Department of Social Protection have supposedly issued an arrest warrant for me for money laundering. I was tempted to press 1 on the phone to speak to the investigating team.

Have had three of those calls lately. You’d imagine they would catch someone with that one too, some naïve person who just wants to sort it and make sure they arent being prosecuted. Not sure what happens to move it to the next stage where they scam, but its a decent operation. Phone number just like a standard mobile number too.

I am on my 5th or 6th one now. I must have been in early round of calling, I got from 022 numbers and the other day from an 086 one. I googled the 022 number to see where it was from and it is from Ibadan in Nigeria. I’d say they will catch a few with it and the message sounds very professional and the bit with the arrest warrant would give some folks a fright. I am guessing if you press 1 to speak to the investigation team that is where the scam is and there they would start asking for your personal details.
