That one is dangerous because if you did have a BOI account that would appear in the thread with other legitimate texts from BOI.
A lot of people got caught out recently.

How do they make the contact name “BOI”?
Would be trivial enough to spoof that once you have the SMS software.
I’ve been getting a clatter of calls over the last week from a Dublin number that show up from different numbers but with the starting numbers the same.

are some of the more recent ones. I’ve mainly missed the calls and when I tried to ring back one there it just gives an engaged tone. I found a few things odd
- An irish number showing up with 00353 in front of rather than a local number or even +353
- There’s nothing about any of the numbers anywhere online when you search them
Anyone have any ideas? My thumb going up my hold didn’t give any answers either for what its worth.

Do you bank with AIB?
I created an account with them when I was about 14 at some student day yoke cos they lodged in a free tenner for you. I won a gear bag in a draw for opening the account. But I haven’t used the account in about 20 years I’d say. So no I don’t really.
I read about some scam where they were calling AIB customers from what looked like an AIB phone number (Dublin based), were able to give the customer some details about their account and were asking the customer to tell them give over their online log-in or something

Happening all over Cork for weeks
Wife got calls from the exact same numbers. I got a call from Sri Lanka. Apparently the scam is, that you call back the number and apparently get transferred to some premium line where they charge you an arm and a leg

Another call that I answered and they hung up quickly. That might knock me off their list for a while
