Sweden v Ireland & Ireland v Austria - International Football Double Header

I think it was obvious I was referring to Coleman and O’Shea when I said defenders.

But I said Trap was indicted for the result in my first overview post. I mentioned Coleman as an aside in response to someone else saying he was good - I wasn’t singling him out for blame, nor did I say he cost us victory. Again, as mentioned in my first post game post, I thought Long was our best player and probably the only one to reach a decent level. I then threw in a mention of O’Shea because he sickens me every time he plays for Ireland.

TASe hasn’t gibbered on here in weeks? I kinda miss the moron? Is he back?

I am right. You are wrong.

He’s trading under the name of Fingal Raven now.

O’Shea hasn’t been too bad in the last two games, I thought he was finished after the Euros. If Trap had have bolstered the midfield with 20 minutes left and left someone up front who could run we would have won. It’s a devastating draw, those 2 points will make all the difference.

Fair enough. Please pinpoint examples in the game where you can back up your claim of Coleman’s performance being poor.

ah , god help us, I have you know

Did you not recognise the unique style?

I missed it

The long/green sub was a total joke and the decision to leave sammon on for the full 90 was completely farcical. He is an absolutely appalling player. Trap is a senile cunt of a man

nonsense bordering on treacherous by Gola

The reason we didnt hold on to the lead is that the players dont have the technical ability to do it- thats not the FAI fault thats your fault and the rest of barstoolers fault as they invest tehir money into their beloved English football

Its all Gola’s fault? :mad:The cunt.

Sammon wasn’t the problem last night, he did quite well.

He was useless…

Agreed. Sammon ran his legs to a stump. He was clearly gone with 20 minutes to go however and deserved to be subbed. Walters was much in the same, didnt contribute much but put in a huge shift. To think with 10 minutes or so to go we had two players with little more to give physically still on the field and a substitution still to make is baffling and infuriating. Say what you like about Trap, and many will and have here, but he’s an experienced manager and to not get one more pair of fresh legs on that field is unbelievable. Also to bring Green on where he did and to push Walters up front which has already been outlined, is another serious black mark.

Saying that, Trap didnt make the players make the mistakes they did, Clark, the abysmal free kick routine at the end, etc. Its not always Traps fault as many people want to make it out as, but on occasions he does make mistakes as he did in last nights endgame. The outcome may not have changed for all we’d know, but that doesn’t mean you do nothing.

Running your legs to a stump and contributing to the game are not necessarily the same thing. Anyone on this board could have done what he did. He was clumsy with absolutly no touch whats so ever and didn’t even win more than half the headers he contested.

I’ve seen lamp posts, trees, rugby players and Kilkenny Gaelic footballer that have more coordination, talent and spatial awareness than Sammon.

In fairness he scored 2 goals. But we should have made changes 15 mins into the second half. Anybody else think their 2nd goal was off side. Your man was right in the keeper’s line of sight, clearly interfering with play. Sammon did ok, but he looks like a junior player. Constantly running around, bent over.

In all sports if you are a lesser team, you are better off with your own manager. A manager from a bigger country won’t respect you, and that is what we have with Trap.

I agreed with the fact that Sammon wasn’t the problem. Then I moved onto the fact that he had run his legs to a stump and made my point that Trap failed in not replacing a clearly exhausted player. Sammon wasn’t the drawing of that game last night. I would have preferred Walters up front with Brady on the wing for what its worth, but Sammon wasn’t at fault. But go, he’s an easy target.
