Will you keep it up the year round now? I got in in for a swim in West cork last week and I hope to get in in kilkee next week. Hope to keep it going as near weekly as possible through the winter.
Heading to Westport tomorrow for 2 days porter, any decent swimmix spots in the vicinity?
Did you look like Simon Weston after it?
Will go as often as I can. Did it last year but had much more time then. Will aim for twice a week. Helps to have a few heads. There were 5 of us this morning which is pretty good.
Loads. Honestly.
Magical weather this morning for a dip in Rush harbour. Sun beaming down. However the water there was warmish but filthy. Not sure if it’s the boats or the bay but all sorts of foreign objects in the water. Didn’t dip the head thankfully. Will stick to skerries and high rock on DNS.
Looks beautiful. Not sure why but Rush always seems to be one of the first Dublin beaches to get bad water notices. Must be a regular issue there.
Urban and agricultural run off. Or shite as it is more colloquially known.
The 40ft was magic this morning - water not even that cold. God bless this climate change.
A lovely swim in kilkee today, my first in more than a month I’d say, I expected it to be much colder, it was gorgeous.
Water temp grand this time of year. Much warmer than April or May for example
You’re right it was lovely. Glorious sunny day helped too.
Pollack holes or the beach? Many about down there?
Black rock. It’s nearly always Byrne’s cove of there for me. Good few about, any place that was open was booked out.
Back to the pool this morning. Sea getting too cold to do distance really so need to mix in a bit of pool. Felt like I hadn’t swum hard in ages. Gonna do a couple of mornings a week of this to get me gack in the swing of it.
Tomorrow morning will be 365 days sea-swimming (occasionally lake-swimming) without missing a single day all year. I’ve a mate who started the same day with me and also hasn’t missed a day.
To celebrate we are joining a charity swim on Saturday called the Dickie Dip, which is a group skinny-dip in aid of the Mater Hospital.
If I could work out how to do anonymous fund-raisers, I’d throw up a link on TFK.
Dickie Dip sound incredibly gay.
That’s some going. Is it the forty foot you go to in Dublin? Do you not find it hard to fit around a work day? Maybe you’re out that direction and wfh?
What benefits have you found?
