I go all over. The 40 Foot would be the main spot, Vico is good for a laugh, Bull Island this morning (although tide-dependent), Sea Point, Portmarnock and Malahide, also the Cooley Peninsula.
Yes it’s getting annoying going after work now, especially with the evenings getting dark and I’ll be happy when it’s over just to get some free time. But I’ll still go a few times a week.
Unbelievable benefits. Normally I’d have colds and runny noses over winter but none of that. Even the fact that I’ve finished a whole year and gone a year without being bedbound sick is unprecedented. In better health and fitness generally. Energy levels better. Skin is better. It has improved my mood every single day also. Better at swimming. I’ve also lost about 11 or 12 kg since the start of lockdown.
The Dickie Dip was on Saturday and was great craic. We stayed on in Skerries until 4 o’clock drinking their free whiskey and I’ll do it again next year. If anyone wants to donate here’s a link:
Did you stay in long? There’s people still doing good long swims out there, fair play to them. I went out as far as the first buoy last week, but mostly kept my head up out of the water with the cold.
I havent been doing steady it for the past 2 weeks, enjoying my break. I was swimming in Youghal last weekend and it was cold, only did about 5 minutes.
