Red flag in Seapoint today but water temperature was actually lovely. All set up now to drink 13 or 14 beers and eat a few kilos of barbecued meat.

How’s the weather your end mate? Been raining all day here and cold.

Actually nice day here all day me oul pal. I fear we’re in for a fairly typical Irish summer this year though rather than the anomalies of the last 2 years.

I was swimming with Claire and Paul and Damo yesterday over at East Manchester, when a lass got in and apologised and said she’d stay out of the way. I told her we were doing a set and she’d be welcome to join us. Grand so, she said, I’ll go at the back. After a few hundred metres I suggested she’d be better at the front.
Anyhow, talking to her after, it transpired she had swum the channel. Doing butterfly. :flushed::flushed:

Great day for it lads. Tis easy get in when it’s raining and the wind is cold. Warmer in than out. Off for a nice coffee from the station now. Oh to be alive.

I was out for a swim this evening at high tide just after 9 after doing the cliff walk from Rathmoylan to Ballymacaw. A big contingent of the local Amish community out for a stroll on Rathmoylan beach to finish off their day of Sabbath observance.

I went for my first dip of the year last night - lasted all of 45 seconds I’d say. Sea was ice cold.

Where was that?

Mid Rock

I had a swim there in Ballyheigue a couple of weeks ago. It was pissing rain and there was barely anyone around. The water was lovely. Warm enough to be fair too.

Atlantic ocean > Irish Sea

All day. Both are good to clear the head though.

Barrelling over to high rock once madam is in bed

Lovely time to go out. I was tied up all day Monday and didn’t get out until well after 10. High tide and was 10.45 with the last bit of light going when I got out of the water.

0610am tomorrow :grimacing:
0610 is very very early.
