Tonight I broached the subject of joining the Ukrainian international brigade with my wife.

Look, I don’t know if it’s a piss take or not but there are definitely people with no direct links to Ukraine signing up, and they are heroes. Some people like to vent on the internet and say how things should be done, others hit the front line and try to n my air a difference.

I’m blown away if this is true. Fair play obviously but i dont think I’d do that in a million years. I know i wouldnt.
There’ll be some heroism here and there alright, but like all wars There’ll be things like slaughtering your fellow man, becoming a meaningless pawn in geopolitical nonsense, discovering that a lot of what you believed was propaganda, giving up physical and intellectual freedom to make distinctions between right and wrong, war crimes, abuse of prisoners and all the rest

Thats the way. We’ll deal in simplicities until enough people get killed. Then some safe* politicians can thrash out an agreement that could have been reached in the first place.
