Taylor Swift- (Generation me)

Sail and rail to Poland ?

is there any other way to get there?

This generation need to take climate change seriously and make sacrifices like we did by not travelling abroad to gigs as kids.

Thanks, I’m not sure I can trust that for that kind of money, at least for 455 I knew they were good seats

We were offered something for Wembley today but we’re in Spain that week
Not to be I’d say, was never for me anyway, the wife and the 12 year old were penciled in

Lads. 30 euros. World class talent. Mozart’s absolutely stunning 40th symphony. A high point in human achievement.

Creepy man who writes for Gript, The Spectator and the Epoch Times in being outraged at success of talented, attractive young woman shock.

The following paragraph is one of the most laughably pathetic things ever published.

At 34, Swift remains unmarried and childless, a fact that some might argue is irrelevant to her status as a role model. But, I suggest, it’s crucial to consider what kind of example this sets for young girls. A role model, by definition, is someone worthy of imitation. While Swift’s musical talent and business acumen are certainly admirable, even laudable, we must ask if her personal life choices are ones we want our sisters and daughters to emulate. This might sound like pearl-clutching preaching, but it’s a concern rooted in sound reasoning.

I have never seen him write for The Spectator. Maybe you are confusing him with Rod Liddle?

Took the plunge today, listened to Taylor Swifts top 10 songs as deemed so by Spotify.

Just dont get it, for me its complete and utter garbage.

I always think “best of” & “top songs” lists never do the artist justice. You need to start at the beginning, let the themes of each album fully wash over you, entirely immerse yourself in their music & really feel & understand their development as an artist in chronological order. Then you’ll be in an educated position to conclude on their merits. If you start listening to her debut album now then you may have some considered feedback in a few weeks.

Try Exile with Bon Iver.

It’s as good a pop song as you’ll hear.

Just not for me. Probably too old. I remeber first listening to The Pixies, Stonr Roses, Oasis, Smiths, Cure, James Brown, Waterboys or a song like Flo Ridas, with the Ella James Riff. All these artists had me hooked from the first couple of phrases.

Just dont get that with Swifty. Personally I think its a crock of shite. We have wall to wall coverage on the news, TV, radio, work colleagues of this Swifty phenomena. Thought Madonnas stuff was much catchier. I feel like Im the little boy looking at the emperor with no clothes in his new suit.

I wonder is there a bit of misunderstanding here.
My guess is that the middle aged male ‘Swifties’ that we’re referencing are just enjoying their kids music, I wouldn’t ever consider listening to her songs when I have control of the music, I’d listen to my own music.
When you’ve kids you need to hand over the controls of the music for car journeys etc, I’ve 4 daughters, 11 to 17, my youngest is a big Maisie Peters fan, I think she’s really good as well.
I used to be a bit of a music snob, I’d never have imagined taking this side of an argument like this

My list of Taylor Swifts best songs would be a bit out of the ordinary, although I do think All too well is a great song.

Madonna is an interesting comparison, when true blue came out with wouldn’t have admitted to liking it, but my sister played the shit out of it and I think it’s a very good album.

If you don’t enjoy it then forget about it, there’s loads of music that I wouldn’t like

It’s great to see parents bonding with their children through music.

It’s also great seeing people wearing gloriously silly outfits and having fun. Still, that’s enough about middle aged men in Tommy Varden jerseys.
