He’s an Ennis head. The girl involved was lucky, no thanks to yer and and his mates.

The young fella had a leavers mass today…parents invited/expected. A tedious enough affair - the priest had notions, he delivered the sermon while striding up and down the aisle and waving his arms around. He told that yarn about the lad stuck on the roof during a flood, spurning offers of rescue from boats and helicopters, instead opting to wait for god to rescue him. Lad drowns, then tackles god for not showing up, and god then fucks him off right hack for not getting on the chopper.

The head of year then made an emotional speech about ups and downs, tough times, and how he promised himself he’d always be there for the childer, A full ten minutes of facing challenges, rising to the occasion, inner strength, finding a way, always being a part of…etc etc. He then presented us with a slide show of random photos interrupted by short videos of childer talking about how the head of year helped them find the courage, face challenges, be the best version of themselves etc. It was set to music so awful that even @farmerinthecity would find it feebly sentimental. On our way out the door he called my young fella by the wrong name.

Shouldn’t you have been some kind of celebrity guest or been introduced as a sporting icon from the last century or has your standing been eroded with the passing of time……

I’d have straightened the year head for not knowing the boys name…

My youngest fellow has a week off school this week. Three weeks of school after Easter holidays and a week off for some sort of early May mid-term.

Mine too… lovely weather for it.

Sounds good.

Any way of sending it on to me?

I suppose he might finish a week later in June than other schools?

You ungrateful cur and I merely showering you with praise. Would David Attenborough have any footage of you in heyday or possibly Reeling in the Years? It’s just that a grandson of mine has recently gone 14 and I’m anxious to properly gauge his footballing prowess…

You’ll know soon enough - if he’s not playing senior within a year you may disown him

Yeah, there’s lots of places going till June 30. Lovely have the week in May, breaks it up.

We’re finished on the 19th

But like we worked like dogs, I’ve hardly seen my kids :man_shrugging:

Can’t complain, we’re off the week after next. Just makes it a bit long with July provision but will be wrapped by AI Final completely.

It’s a pain for parents, but I like it being broken up, kids, SNAs, Teachers get tetchy.

Actually I’m doing one week of July provision as well :flushed:

Fair play to you both. That makes a big difference to a lot of families.

You’re finished up by mid afternoon, don’t work a solid fortnight between Christmas and easter and have three months off in the summer
