To date the Politically Motivated Understudy’s only achievement of note has been the airbrushing out of a photo and a lifetime ban imposed on a Limerick teacher working in Cork. The lifetime ban pertains to entry of the field at Knocklong apparently, or so I was told at work today. Lets not lose the run of ourselves now and hope also that Thugby FM don’t begin to fuck everything up with their ‘promotion’ antics. Sheedy is right, Limerick can beat KK. Unfortunately Batt’s presence will not happen on this occasion either as work beckons, we are too busy according to the boss. Batt will be there in spirit though.
Just a few observations before I hit the cot: Nicky is not a goalkeeper and tried for the third time in a row to save a shot with his feet. Breen has been somewhat of a revelation. Dowling is coming good at the right time and I sincerely hope he banishes the heeby jeebys when he hits the hallowed turf in Dubalin. Downes deserves more credit for his performance on Sunday and Tobin needs to start. Seamus was brilliant. There was no need for a plan B against the strawberry pickers so we don’t know if PUM has one.
His pre match interview against Tipp day 1 of the Championship with Joanne Cantwell, he started the interview off with a big bright smile. I was captured that moment, there was something magical happened in that interview then that told me he was the special one and with men like Seamus Hickey whose skill and passion is simply immeasurable on his team I do believe TJ is the man to bring us to AI glory.
The man’s a legend for turning around a season that was looking very sour when we went out of the league against Galway under the very expensive Corkman O’Grady. That performance was an absolute joke and I’d actually give the County Board props for slyly moving that prick on afterwards. TJ has my vote for a number of reasons particularly sticking with this group of players, beating Tipp in Thurles, post match interview vs Wexford - but primarily as his a proud Limerick man who is in the job for the right reason. In TJ we trust to fuck!!
