The RTE.ie section of the business was never funded by the State coffers. Traditionally it was always funded by advertising and, believe it or not, sales of the RTE Guide.
I don’t know if that’s changed or not in the last ten years as they’ve completed a structural reorganisation I believe.

You should complain to them, their responses are comedy gold.
I had to watch the match yesterday via IPTV, had tried RTE player first and it was unwatchable. I thought it funny that lads can pirate and stream a better quality feed than RTE can put on their own website.
GAAGO/RTE is run by a bunch of halfwit clowns. Badly needs some guidance from one of TFK’s stellar IT cast.

RTE player, what a heap of crap…any county gaa websites, limerick’s one has to be the worst, hasn’t been updated for a a few years, the u21 panel has lads from 2016 on it, but they’ll have 50 photos of a junior b league final on Facebook.
All the academy all Ireland blitzes are on this weekend, not a mention of it in the bord na nog section, not even panels.
