They found the 9/11 lads passports a few blocks away after the plane flying into a building and bursting into flames so anything is possible.

The reason for the passports is that you can be detained for no reason at all in France if you cannot produce a valid ID. Would be rather stupid to get stopped on their way to an attack in a speeding checkpoint and detained just because they didnât have a valid ID.
