Terrorism Thread. The terror of another nembo kev thread
Farmer go make a complaint about the guards or publically expose their unprofessional ism or whatever and see how your free speech goes.
See how some of the conspiracy theorists have been treated in the US.

FREE SPEECH MY HOLE. SMARTEN UP.
THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY POINT AT ALL!!
This is all about the right of freedom of speech. Nothing else.

I am obviously born in the West but to me freedom of speech is the critical factor in a democracy. It also is essential in broadening the mind. Otherwise you have a controlled society. Whether the controlling is done by a State or a religion is not acceptable in my book.

So these cartoonists were sticking a finger up to these fascists and continuing with these cartoons because they live in a country that allows them to do that. The fact that they were blown to bits for it makes them martyrs on my book.

Of course there are many, many Muslim people in this world who see the cartoons, don’t like them due to their religion but don’t react as they respect the cartoonists right to publish them. That should not be forgotten about.
Make a joke on twitter about running over a cyclist (even though you did not actually run over a cyclist) and lose your job.

A bloke was jailed for four months in the UK in 2012 for wearing a t shirt which said “One Less Pig Perfect Justice.” He had worn it after two policewomen had been killed.

Freedom of expression has been eroded in the West too.

I have a gay mate and a fat mate… If anyone makes any gay or fat jokes around here I’m gonna kill them. You’ve been warned.

Breaking News: Bbc are reporting Gazza has just rocked up at the Champs-Élyéss with a fishing rod a chicken roll and a few cans of Dutch Gold.

My point was really as to why they commit outrageous acts of violence versus the IRA moving to a warning for bombs and it being down to public opinion in their respective constituencies that allows them to do it. They gain propaganda that serves their cause in cutting a head off on video whereas IRA arrived at a position where they damaged their cause amongst their community if they killed civilians in a bomb. There are different sensibilities in the West and in the as I called it the Islamic World.

It has everything to do with it. True free speech does not exist.

Here lads, lets get back to the story.

So, shooting this morning of a police officer. No clear connection yet. The French Interior Minister has however left an emergency cabinet meeting to address the media shortly. Which may be indicative of something.

By True free speech do you mean the ability to spout any old hateful nonsense? Satire is, particularly in the cartoon form, miles away from that and a tool that challenges ideas and concepts that makes us look at how we behave. There’s a massive, massive difference… And It’s not as if It’s a new concept, we’ve been using it for 100s of years.

Michael Fitzmaurice and Maurice Fitzmichael riding in a bowl of Mars bars. Come at me, bro.

Have we not already established it was rogue agents hired by the far right?
I didn’t say all Muslims. I said Islamists/the Islamic World. Islamic world being Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi, Syria, Tunisia, UAE (could add in parts Pakistan too). Majority in most of these countries are in favour of sharia law and believe it should apply in all Muslim countries. Sharia law stones rape victims and cuts off limbs/blinds people as a punishment. If they are not outraged by stoning a rape victim do you think they will be outraged by shooting a cartoonist who mocked their God.

The Egyptians and the Jordanians don’t like it up them.

7 arrested yesterday. None of them the main suspects.
2 lads were likely being “watched*” by police previously. One had previously been arrested and jailed for 3 years for organising jihadists.
The third gunman was actually in school all day**.

*think watched may have a loose definition in this sense
**conspiracy theorists will have plenty to get excited over

Live reporting of these things has gone insane. Wild speculation now seems to be perfectly acceptable.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/paris-shooting-two-police-officers-injured-in-assault-rifle-attack-hours-after-charlie-hebdo-killings-9964143.html

Two police officers were injured in a shoot-out in the south Paris suburbs this morning, less than 24 hours after the gun attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Two men with assault rifles wounded two local police officers, incuding a woman, after their car was involved in a road accident. One of the gunmen was reported to have been arrested. The other fled.

Police said that it was too early to say whether the incident was connected with the assault on the offices of Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday which killed 12 people.

Heavily armed police cordoned off the streets around the Avenue Pierre Brossollette in Montrouge, just south of the Paris city boundary. A helicopter hovered overhead.

This is a massive bugbear of mine and something I have campaigned long and hard about on this site. Wild speculation has absolutely become acceptable in most major news agencies. Just watch any reporting of a natural disater/plane crash/TERROR!!! incident. The death toll figures are always exaggerated. 20,000 feared dead! Actually reports are now coming in that the figure is closer to 3 but stay tuned because we have some footage of people mourning after the break along with some celebrities tweets on the matter after the break.

Stop watching Fox news so, mate.

@Rocko - can we get a smiley based on this one please?

Haven’t see that station in years, bro. It is every news station, including the likes of the BBC which are supposed to be more “serious” news agencies.

I gave up watching news years back for most of the same reasons, bro. 24 hr news is the pits… Al Jazeera is alright as is Euronews now and again but you might as well be watching big brother or reading the Sun newspaper instead of watching Sky, Beep etc. etc.
