That’s staggering.
Windies 65/3 on the opening day of the second test at Sabina Park. They were 7/3 after 5 overs.
O’Keefe couldn’t run because of his hamstring, so boundaries or nothing and they weren’t exactly hitting the big shots. They ended up with 4 off around 180 deliveries. Was the ninth wicket stand too, just to be pedantic.
Super win for SL. Aussie batting in Asia disgraceful again, late resistance notwithstanding. Some innings from Kausal Mendis in the match situation.
England have just been bowled out for 297 on the first day of the third test at Edgbaston after Pakistan won the toss and put them into bat. Gary Ballance top scored with 70 and Sohail Khan took five wickets.
Windies making a decent fist of saving the second test at Sabina Park. The game looked up yesterday as they slumped from 41/1 to 48/4 in just three overs before rain finished off Day 4. They’re 215/5 at lunch, still 89 runs shy of making India bat again. They’ll need to be batting well past tea to force a draw.
Windies now on 248/5 still trailing India by 56 runs. 50 overs left in the day so probably need to bat out minimum 35 of those or put another 140/150 runs on the board.
6th wicket partnership broken at 144 as Shane Dorwich given out to a truly awful lbw call as Ian Gould raises the finger to the cheating appealing Indians when there was a clear inside edge. India’s veto of the use of the DRS is a disgrace.
All rounder Roston Chase has just brought up a century in only his second test. First West Indies player since Sir Garfield Sobers at Headingley in 1966 to get a five for and a century in the same test. Batting here without a helmet and chewing away on his gum. That’s a throwback.
Windies 287/6, trail by 17 with 39 overs remaining.
Windies are gonna get the draw. Great resistance today. Chase remains unbeaten on 134. 50+ scores for each of numbers 5-8. Handshake should be imminent.
After some truly awful batting in the first test and for the first four days of this test, some effort from the middle order to put on 340/2 today - and the second of those wickets was an awful umpiring decision. Hopefully the Windies can kick on for the rest of the series. And there’s the handshakes. Drawn test.
Plenty of test action on at the moment. Second test in Galle gets underway at 5.30 in the morning. Its on Eurosport.
Another typically resolute batting display in Asia from the world ranked Number 1, Australia. They lost 9 wickets in just under 20 overs going from 54/1 to 106 all out in 33.2 overs. Hat-trick for Rangana Herath claiming the wickets of Voges, Nevill and Starc. First innings lead of 175 for Sri Lanka.
Pakistan all out for 400, a lead of 103.
Big session now for England.
Tremendous stuff from Cook and Hales as England reach 100 without loss. England back in with a shout now.
Good test this.
120-0 at stumps, a lead of 17 for England.
Australia routed before tea on Day 3 as Sri Lanka win the second test in Galle by 229 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead and win the Warne-Muralitharan Trophy.
Cook gone for 66, 126-1 now.
Hales gone. Game on.
Hales gone now too for 54, 126-2. England 23 runs ahead and in a spot of bother now.
Pressure on Vince now.
Important 95 run third wicket stand for England broken with the departure of Joe Root. England 234/3, a lead of 131.
