Test Match Cricket

80/8

80/9

All out for 81

Incredible test match

It’s an utter farce and a disgrace to test cricket to produce a wicket like this. Test match going to be over in four sessions before lunch on Day 2 with 380 odd runs in the match.

What really sums it up is a very part time bowler in Joe Root with first innings bowling figures of 5 for 8.

Don’t be a sore loser now Chairman

Indeed.

Same pitch for both teams

It is. And India didn’t make much of a fist of batting on it either, 145 all out and a part time spinner in Joe Root finishing with bowling figures of 5 for 8.

It brings test cricket into disrepute when a 5 day test match is completed in less than a day and a half.

The Caribbean @Bandage

agreed. that sounds like an absolute farce

The wicket wasn’t too hectic for the second test in Madras either but it held up reasonably okay for most of first two days so both teams got a fair chance to bat on it first time around before it completely disintegrated. This has been a farce though. A Day 5 dustbowl from literally the start of the test.

There’s a few test careers on that England team that should be finished now once and for all. Bairstow is just simply not up to it. Crawley not a test opener either.

Axar man of the match for me. Sensational bowling.

Already three 5-fors in 2 test matches.

Not a bad start to his test career

Averaging about nine runs per wicket

Very solid start. The English batsmen can’t figure him out at all.

With the exception of Root and Sibley to a lesser extent, the English batsman can’t figure out any decent spinner.

Andy Strauss is seething

Sir Andrew Strauss.

What’s he saying?

Saying the pitch is far too biased in favour of the spinners.

Cook gave more credit to the bowlers
